Is Jeanty a generational RB ?

I think some of these workout guys trust their preferred location and setting for workouts.
Trusting pro day results more... vs nfl combine testing .
It's not unusual.
of course its better for them; but the teams take that into account and will not put much weight into anything that happens there that has not been seen before.
That is why its smart to go to the combine: UNLESS you feel it will expose you more than a Pro Day will

JMO, wonder if he's worried about timing bad in the 40 at the combine?

Not a fan of guys sitting out the combine testing unless they are coming off an injury.

Graham has short arms, but his tape is terrific. He still remains my top player for the Cowboys.
We are in agreement about this draft for the Cowboys. Graham tape is just too good though. But if he somehow gets to 8. It will get interesting. There is not a clear cut team that will take him in the top 7.

49ers would take him ahead of us, they could use an interior defender.

The best thing Dallas can do is throw as much smoke out there about drafting him… and silently look to other prospects at 12 either along the OL or DL or a top WR if he falls

Jeanty simply won’t be there at 12 and someone will leap frog Dallas to take him if he even makes it to 10

We should not put all our eggs in that basket, nor do we have the spare draft capital to trade up for him.

Use the smoke to conceal your real targets and focus on scouting backs you can draft in other rounds.

If by some miracle he actually makes it to 12, then you can run up and turn the card in
:hammer:

Well said, good sir!

Zeke was definitely proven against presumably better competition. I think he was overdrafted as a prospect at #4 overall though given that he really was just a power back.

I will say that I think Bijan was a better prospect than Jeanty when he came out.
I totally disagree that zeke was really just a power back.

What caught my eye the most was his home run speed.. and that was what opposing teams feared the most vs zeke.

I envisioned zeke as the next Adrian Peterson a special blend of size, speed, power, and run skills...

Agree, but they’re not that smart. They actually do a pretty good job of broadcasting who they like ahead of time.
Ah yes.

I fondly remember last year, when they told me (and everyone else) how much they loved RB Jonathan Brooks.

Jerry went so far as to show me the draft board.

Such honesty…

I've believed this whole time he will be available at 12. Solely because his body type. I doubt he has a great combine.

Like some other top 10 teams, I'm not sure they would prioritize DT over a couple of other positions. I can see going offense ( WR, OL ) before DT, especially in a deep draft.

49ers need defensive end, offensive line, cornerback, ect. The 49ers are similar to us but yeah they would have a hard time passing on Graham.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Nolan is drafted ahead of Graham if he has a big combine. Think Hutchinson vs Walker a few years back.

I don’t disagree. I think I mentioned on another thread that he (Zeke) was a power back with some speed and a little wiggle.

His speed has been overstated though. He ran a 4.47 at 225 lbs.

Barkley ran a 4.40 at 233 lbs.

Demarco Murray ran 4.41 at the combine his draft class year...but was never viewed as speedy breakaway guy.

Murray clearly was never the home run hitter that zeke was coming into the nfl draft

By game tape, one could easily see the instant ini/out of hole burst and pull away acceleration that zeke was displaying at OSU..

Several players 40.times.dont translate to the playing field.
So we have be cautious trying to base and compare game day play speed vs 40 times

That didn’t translate to the pros for Zeke beyond his rookie season.

He has just five (5) runs of 40+ yards in 2,319 career carries. Four of those came his rookie year.

Barkley had seven (7) of the runs 2024 alone.

Murray was absolutely known for his breakaway speed at OU.
