Is KeVante Turpin on the hot seat?

I don't think there is any chance they cut him. I just don't want him wasting reps on offense. It's predictable and generally a waste. Let a real receiver take those snaps.

No jet sweeps anymore. Ever.
It's not a waste at all not even close you all have some strange perspectives this guy is a 4th receiver who is not going to get that many touches so no matter who they bring for a 4th receiver they're not getting many touches but he's already on the team every week he's playing dual roles meaning another person to do what he does on offense would be picking up an unnecessary roster spot when you can bring an extra lineman an extra tight end an extra running back that is how it works when you're putting together limited rosters with salary caps he's playing dual roles we already have the guys with heavy targets who will always have the heavy targets.

Shall I go over it again lamb Pickens, flo, Ferguson Ford the running backs and then Turpin so who else is is gonna get on the team now and waste the spot to get those very few targets he's doing two things it's not wasting offensive snaps he's already there he will always be there doing a dual role which another person would absolutely be wasting that spot..

First-team All-Pro (2024)
Second-team All-Pro (2025)
3× Pro Bowl (2022, 2024, 2025)
2× NFL kickoff return yards leader (2024, 2025)

Does that sound like a player who could be on the hot seat or a surprise cut?

the 2025 awards were a joke, but that doesn't mean he is getting cut because the 2024 ones were legit and worth betting on

Would you like to count up Ferguson's fumbles how about that game with George Pickens let balls bounce off his hands and turn into interceptions the same with flow the same with williams didn't sanderers fumbles on the 5 yeard line,

How about we count up all the drops from CD lamb I mean is that what you're pointing out that he made some mistakes that everybody on the team had the ability to make at least one mistake last year like that even Blue fumbled once last year, Was in very limited time but got hit just right on the ball i'm sorry dude people are trying to make reasons that Turpin shouldn't be here when their main reason he's here is because nobody else can do what he does not it's just a returner this man behind the line of scrimmage as a running back type gadget player and some of his catches were the longest plays from scrimmage the last two years both in yards and air yards II don't think people get that nobody can replace him brown and Mingo are great but that's not who they're competing with They're gonna be competing with the starting three receivers we already have that play outside or in the slot...
I am not making any reason up at all as to why he should not be here. Stop making stuff up.
I just pointed out a few things on my opinion.
I can have one right?

You are nit picking at every thing. Of course other players had issues with certain plays.
Why don't you get into, Dak should have ran instead of passing type plays.
The play call should have been a run instead. of a pass.

Player X was more wide open than player Y, why wasn't thetas to that player. Even though player X gained 20 yards.

If Turpin is in a “ contract year “ then good things should unfold . He’s the Cowboys return man this year and occasional receiver .

I do think Camden Brown is going to eat into his receivers time and to be honest Anthony Smith had about a 9 yard Jet Sweep but Smith will probably be a PS member this year with an eye to step in for injury . This is a 17 game marathinbn.

Anthony Smith should return kicks & punts in the Arizona desert this weekend . Let’s see his speed on display . Someone who is here who I question is the ST coach . Let Smith practice as return man leading up to the game .

I was just listening to 105.3 the Fan & Brad Sham and interesting they brought up the question is Turpin a lock to make the roster? Interestingly,, Its a contract year for Turpin and what has he shown us lately. Was he a difference maker last year..Nope....I mean, he does two basic things, runs a jet sweep and is one of the highest paid special team players in the NFL. There is not much that Turpin does that cant be replaced by someone else... Does Turpin do anything better, I dont think so,has teams caught on how the Cowboys use him (yeah) or has Turpin lost a step because the cat is out of the bag with Turpin that shiny new player has slowed down and is becoming irrelevant .

Either way, IMO Turpin could be a surprise cut or trade as he is replaceable
Been saying it all summer, the Turpin experiment is over, time to move on!!!

NO

Bet?

He will be on the roster in the same capacity he was last year, book it,

he will not be gone thus he does something crazy off the field you know something strange something outside of football It does happen but no he will not be cut. NOPE

We're talking far too much about this just because of what you think you're seeing from the other receivers who don't do what he does ,

He literally had some of the longest plays from scrimmage last year on the offense, he's a gadget player but he also in the return game you think that he's fell off and he didn't there just wasn't as good at blocking and everyone is calling for the special teams cause to be fired last year because nothing looks special and it was more because of injuries That's right the injuries on the defense affect the depth that you can use people on special teams so we'll see what it looks like this year but he's the same old Turpin and he has a unique niche job on this team that not one person has proven they can do and he's done it in a regular season not practice not camp and not fake games that by the way he didn't play in that's all you need to know he's a starter he has a role and he has a spot
Now we're going colorful?? What are you doing breaking all the rules I love it man new vibe

Tell you what I’m more concerned with the lousy kick & punt coverage I saw from Dallas then I am of Turpin Time . The Seahawk had the 30 at least as a given on kickoffs and they were disappointed if he didn’t approach the 40.

Now we're going colorful?? What are you doing breaking all the rules I love it man new vibe
THERE ARE NO RULES For utilizing sentence structure and all that little stuff at the top that you can select different colors and sizes and you can make a full multi paragraph post..

When you realize we're not in Twitter or any other social media world that has character limits and it doesn't offer this this is a full forum that you can within the other rules that we're not allowed to do certain things As long as I color within those lines I can do whatever I want because it is right there at the top... You've never seen that but that is what that's for..

UMM,OK

Totally missing the point. You don't need another roster spot. If you cant see that he underperformed as a returner last season, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe he should just concentrate on that. He doesn't need to take the field on offense anymore than CJ. Goodwin used to take the field on defense. He can be the 5th.

I don't think he's going anywhere & that's fine as long as he's an asset. However, it never hurts to ask the tough questions about any player as part of self analysis & team building.

Yeah that's your problem you're missing my point don't tell me anything he did not underperform That's like saying every defender on the defense underperformed without actual perspective we all know what happened last year A lot of those dudes look bad because who they were playing with I already explained it to you maybe you don't understand how the special teams is put together with a bunch of players mostly defenders occasionally some receivers some running backs when you have a rash of injuries and now you're using guys who normally would just play special teams starting on your defense it makes all your rest of your defense bad but now you've already weakened your special teams which by the way most people thought it was the fault of the new coach and that would also be somewhat wrong as well because again there's too many injuries it affects the special teams the blocking and whatnot he was a new coach maybe they need to fix some stuff..

It does take up another active day roster spot he does two things offense and special teams he does them pretty damn well I don't know what else to tell you but if you had to bring in another guy to do it or make another guy who already doesn't do it do it that's active and it won't be Brown or Mingo Probably not gonna be flow either..

The only two players that have a chance to be able to do a dual role on active game day would probably be Blue or Israel that could be a kick returner and a punt returner which by the way a lot of guys can't do both that's why you usually have running backs and some low level guys at kick return because it's relatively less tough to feel those catches instead of the punts oh that's right turpin can do both of those he does both of those well he doesn't need to be replaced because he's also there for the offense and he has some of the biggest places from scrimmage..

Yes it would take up another roster spot on game day the active roster you're very limited you do not need to bring another guy or put another guy in harm's way that has not done a damn thing from what I've seen there's nobody yet that have taken enough snaps or punts whether it's in scrimmages or practice or PS games..

You all are delusional if you think just anybody could turpin does it is tough to field punts but he still was at the top in both return games in yardage and whatnot the whole team was bad on special teams in defense last year and putting it all on him is where you don't get my point...

Experiment?

Who's that guy that you're talking to is he new somehow that's supposed to be an experiment no mingo is an experiment,

Moving a guy like Liafu trying to find a spot for him is an experiment,

both Just might be on the bubble that's just a few I can get into what experiments look like However Turpin is a starter on special teams and on offense yes he's a starter WR4 he has a niche role that nobody else can do and somehow people are trying to run him off the team..

It's almost hilarious the perspective people have around there they think because they see something in Mingo Brown or Smith during scrimmages and practices in a meaningless preseason game it's by the way they did a good job yes but they don't do what Turpin does and they don't also have a place for a dual role on a 53 active game day roster to bring another guy maybe two to do returns.

There's only enough tarts to go around and you're not replacing flow lamb Pickens Ford the running backs those targets are all accounted for they're all accounted for and Turpins role is accounted for You might need three different guys to do what Turpin does because you're not turning those guys into special teams guys and none of them really we want running the ball again we don't want Lamb getting hurt,

Look I can acquiesce to this maybe in the future you can turn blue or a guy like Israel into that role but until then turn will be on this team all year so people need to buckle up and deal with it because whatever reason they hate this guy and while I'm gone like he doesn't do enough on the team.

mixed up fans, Yes we like that we see some receivers developing like Baby Mingo maybe Brown maybe this young kid in Smith but I mean anything we seen that from Cropper we've seen that from guys like Holden last year in camp and whatnot..

Those are future guys to take over when guys like George Pickens may not be here and then flow moves up and then they'll need somebody else to move up.. Patiently they'll need to bring one of those guys on the active game day raw but the thing I know 100% is if turpins healthy and he's not gonna get in trouble with the law he will be on this active game day roster every single game..

Yeah at best practice squad and that receiver room typically has a few there so that won’t be easy.
I don't think he's played his way off the team we kept thinking about Rico and Malik Davis no they'll try to put them on the non protected practice squad and see what happens or you can make multiple moves look what happened with flo, They did that to him and he didn't even deserve it but that's how it works They did that to him and he didn't even deserve it but that's how it works..

Not with the kick returner we had on Saturday.

It’s ‘enamored with UDFA WR’ season.

WHY would you cut the best returner in the league??

He is also capable of a big play on offense from time to time. Would be absurd to cut him and he wouldn’t be out of work very long.

They aren’t cutting him to keep Anthony Smith. Sorry
