Is KeVante Turpin on the hot seat?

Turpin really isn't that player as a returner - certainly wasn't in 2025.
Lol... no TD's true. But he still led the NFL in KR yardage with over 1800 yards and had an 84 yard return that fell short of a score.

Plus he had to adjust to the new dynamic kickoff rules. It's not like he lost a step or maybe you consider going a different route.

He absolutely lost a step.

He led the league in yards because he had the most attempts.

Anyone consider that Turpin fell off last year because our new ST coordinator is not good at his job and a huge step down from Bones?

Oh, my mistake.

Who are you putting forward so that Turpin can join his next team?
As what? A returner? I don't care. I wouldn't cut Turpin, necessarily, but I don't think he should get offensive snaps.

I mostly think people exaggerate what he is as a returner. My bigger issue is that they gave him a long-term deal, when he's a replacement level player.

Mingo caught 2 punts Saturday night. I wouldn't say that I want Turpin gone, but I can see that he is replaceable. Brown makes him replaceable because he is clearly a better receiver and Mingo can clearly do things that Turpin can not do.
He had one fair catch negated by a penalty.

You keep saying that Mingo can do things Turpin can’t but there are a half dozen guys who can.

There are things that Turpin can do that Mingo can’t, things no one in the team but CeeDee Lamb has done.

Mingo is a good special teams player. He very well could be a gunner and punt returner and kick off coverage guy.
Johnny Mingo just had a shadow crossover his grave...lol

Yes. The coaching was bad. The players were bad. Including Turpin. It's not a wild claim.
If you only dress 4 receivers on gameday, then yes, its a number game. He would never make an NFL roster if he was ineffective at returns. He could never make it as a receiver only. So why would we want that guy getting snaps at receiver even on a limited basis. Stop acting like you are the only one who knows how NFL rosters work. You're not special.
Now there's no acting I Turpin has made this team he is a lock and this is something fantasy to understand wide receiver Wonder 4 is a lock just like last year nobody's taking that away forom Lamb, GP, Flo and Turp.. They're just not ready..

They do not do what he does they cannot replace him if they cannot half the speed and the gadget plays and all stuff promise you Urban is going nowhere on cut downs and you can table this book market and we can talk in three weeks when the rosters finalized interpret still going to be active every single game that he's healthy got it got it got it got it good good it's not about having a big head as I know he hasn't done anything to lose his job and I've already explained why...

Turpin has his spot on the roster, at the least as a kick returner. After this year, it's up for for grabs.
Actually it's a PUNT returner and KICK returner and gadget player WR4 answer. Not all guys do both He can He's pushing at catching it and doesn't matter if he's making big plays he consistently makes sure he handles the ball and there is actually better blogging He'll still be pretty good at it and I still like his WR4 the man has some of the longest plays from scrimmage even last year Air yards etc etc That's all you expect at a number 4 all these people are to push him out you're crazy you have to find out that can both do kick and punt returns and do what goes on offense and one person not 3 It's a numbers game the coach will always heap the guy that can do all three They don't need anyone special there not with George and CD Lamb and pho and Ferguson and Ford et cetera et cetera so on and so forth running backside back field there's only so many balls to go around I don't know who's 5,6,7 at WR right now Turpin will be here this year..

It was a small consideration the bigger consideration is all injuries and a turnover was changing the quality of the defense and not leaving a whole lot for special teams to share a lot of those players are intermingled... It happens it was one of those perfect Storm thing new coach too many injuries the blocking wasn made it all so you can chalk it up to that Turpin abused right now here and he's gonna be a lock the roster as long as you don't get in trouble with Law I promise you need luck for this roster he's not being pushed off with some big receivers that are showing off in camp in pre-season it's that simple Those are like wide saver 5 through 7 Turpin is WR4 for now until somebody do his job he'll be here...

Been saying this since we brought Sorenson in as ST coordinator. His only other year doing it, with Jacksonville, wasn't very good, but No-Schott had coached with him and brought him here. We clearly did not have much direction with how we wanted to handle kick returns. I think Sorenson looked at it, said I've got a Pro Bowl returner and just left it up to him to do what he thought best on returns. That led to Turpin slow-playing returns to look for a hole instead of the ST coach having a plan that would allow Turpin to play at full speed the moment he fields the ball. Since we made no change at ST coordinator, I expect more of the same this year.

You've got a Pro Bowl, All-Pro returner, but not even a pro coordinator. Having Sorenson as ST coach means that all of the kicking operations have to be all about talent instead of scheming IMO.

Turpin was one of the worst punt returners in football last season. He returned just 8 punts for 55 yards. His average was ranked 33rd out of 36 eligible returners last year. For his career hes only a 9 yard per return type of player which is below average.

As a depth WR hes OK...but I think we can find ways to replace his 26 catches and 396 yards from last year. Not sure he adds enough value on offense to really justify snaps with such a strong WR group.

I think its fair to say that either Turpin regains elite kick return status or his spot could be getting warm....I doubt they actually cut him, but it's not unthinkable that they do.

His work against the Commanders alone is enough his name to go in the ring (kidding, mostly)
