He should just take his 40mil+ dallas isnt doing anything in the next 5 years. Might as well get what he can.
If you think Micah was going to get $40M last year on an extension I don’t know how to help you understand. If Lamb had been signed 2 years ago do you think he’d have the same contract?Because we know that all the agents are really stupid. I mean, CeeDee's agent and Jefferson agent is one and the same. Like he was going to let Lamb sign for 33 million knowing Jefferson was gonna get 40.....yea, right.
wth is wrong with some of you. Lamb was NOT GOING TO SIGN 2 YEARS AGO. What part of that cant you understand. You have no clue what was offered and when it was offered. If you think Micah was going to get $40M last year on an extension I don’t know how to help you understand. To be fair to Micah, he did say 30m in combination with signing early and for the 'saving' to be re-invested into the roster.Chase making 40+million, do we realistically think he'll take 30+ million, he'd be a fool to do so. His agent wouldn't do it, and the NFLPA would come down hard on Micah for messing up the brotherhood!
This is what I think they're going to do with some of the money roll it over to next year to help as absorb the hitYou don't understand the cap. It's TV money, basically, the overall contract, with some other deductions, etc. is divided up between the 32 teams and each team allocates the money to the players as they see fit, at least 89% of the money, that's the minimum they must pay the players. The rest must be rolled over to the next year, the owners can NEVER get any of the money paid to themselves.
Hope that clears it up.
Totally agreeTo be fair to Micah, he did say 30m in combination with signing early and for the 'saving' to be re-invested into the roster.
Whether this was an altruistic move on his part, or making an 'offer' that he knew wasnt going to be taken up (and giving himself the media high ground), it does highlight:
a) At least Micah made the offer publicly and called out Jerry,
b) Even if this 'offer' didnt materialize in negotiation Jerry loses out as he lost the pre-negotiation media 'exchange'.....and hasnt countered the comment, as far as ive seen.
c) Jerry's not respected by any agent and is taken for a ride as he's so transparent.
d) Dak would of been given more respect if he'd called Jerry out in a similar manner. In his case, not so much on money, but he could of commented on wanting an end of career contract (which allowed CAP flexibility....a win/win/win scenario for him, Jerry and Cowboys).
Not really. If in a year the league pays a team $250M in TV money and sets the cap there, but that team only spends $230M then the team profits $20M. Yes the cap number can still be rolled over, but that team is still on pace to hit the 3 year/90% rule without penalty. Its possible im wrong here, but I dont believe the league holds that money hostage until its spent on player payroll. You don't understand the cap. Discount for what? Jerry hasnt brought in any big name FAs to help Micah and the team. Nothing but bottom trolling in FA for depth players. Micah needs to grab as much money as he can or demand to be traded to a SB contender.Chase making 40+million, do we realistically think he'll take 30+ million, he'd be a fool to do so. It's going to be interesting to see how much he'll make, I'm torn 50/50 about us having three players with top deals, but it is what it is, hopefully all of this spending will one day translate into us going to a NFC championship game or even a SUPERBOWL!!
