Is Moss Done?

Just looking at his numbers from 2009 to 2010 the dropoff is really incredible. Going into this past season Moss was still one of the best recievers in the league and now it appears his career may be over.

2009 with New England:

83 catches, 1,264 receiving yards, 15.2 yards per catch, 13 touchdowns.

2010 with New England, Minnesota, and Tennessee:

28 catches, 393 receiving yards, 14.0 yards per catch, 5 touchdowns.

Is Moss done?

I doubt it, those starts are indicative of him playing for three separate teams in one season. People thought T.O was done after his poor performance in Buffalo but he ended this season with 72 recs for 983 yards and 9 TDs in 14 games.

Moss should still have a few years left, but I guess it all depends on if he wants to play and if he can find a team he is willing to play for.

Kinda funny how the Pats became superhuman, minus the Cleveland hickup, after they traded Moss away. Also kinda funny how the Cowboys finally won a playoff game last year after getting rid of T.O. the previous offseason.

Just say NO to diva-punk wideouts!

I guess you're going to ignore the Patriot's 2007 offense with Moss?

He wasn't whining or slowing down back then was he? In fact he didn't make a peep that year that I know of. He was this year though, correct?

I think there's definately a reason the man broke down and started crying on national TV about how he wanted to go back to the Pats..

seems like he forgot how hard it is to actually have to work for your catches when you don't have a team like the Pats around you, and a QB like Brady who can throw it up deep to you accurately every play.

I wonder if he regrets his whining and complaining now! As a player you don't mess with Belichick's team or Brady, he'll run your butt off fast. Everyone wrote them off when they got rid of Moss then they became the favorite, can't say i'm surprized but it is rather remarkable.

Simply plugged in an old Brady favorite in Deion Branch and away they went. It is pretty ridiculous.

Yep, like they never missed a beat. I wish the Cowboys were structured like that, no Jerry circus, just football, smart football!

It's Belichick and Tom Brady, not the absence or presence of Jerry Jones, that makes the Pats win.

Belicheck has the power to run the team as he sees fit. Its not a coincidence that they keep getting intelligent "football" players in there.

Yeah, none of us really knows how much that's true or isn't true. And we don't know how that really compares to what goes on in Dallas.

It's interesting to see the animosity set in against Jerry Jones this week. I mean, I know he's steeped in animosity always, but it's really getting thick in here all of a sudden now that the season's over. Quite the change from last offseason where he'd really learned from his past mistakes and was a candidate for GM of the year.

GM of the year? For doing nothing? Yea ok.. you're talking about contending for a super bowl so you go out and make zero upgrades to your football team. Definately, GM of the Year for sure.

I think its pretty safe to say that whether Belicheck has the power to do what he wishes, or its got to do with Kraft knowing personel.. they're doing something over there that's much better and much more efficient towards winning football games, than anything Jerry even has a clue about.

You might not have been here last offseason, but there's was GM of the year talk for Jerry. I'm not saying there should have been. I'm just saying most thought doing little was the right move last year. Jerry did that. And now most think we were managed by an idiot because we did very little.

I'm not sure what Kraft:Belichick's relationship is like, or how it compares to a Jones:Garrett relationship. I suspect you really aren't either, and are just alluding to impressions you've gotten from reading what the local Dallas press has to say on the topic. Either way, we've got organizational problems in Dallas, but I'm not sure the GM is the source of the problem. He's got his issues, but he's also got significant strength.

I believe the real problem in Dallas is with the players. And some of the position coaches. We've had issues we've put off addressing for some time that have been exposed this year. We'll see if JG has the stones to fix them. Specifically, I think we need to replace our OL and DB coaches. We need to bring in an experienced DC. We need two new safeties with talent and experience (and we'd be lucky to find even one). We need a new OT and a new OG, and another ILB who's capable of starting. We're about to get thin at DE, too, which sucks because we'd been deep there until very recently. But we don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Not everything in Dallas is broken just because we went 6-10.

Im just saying any talk of Jerry being GM of the Year, even jokingly, is borderline insanity.

As for Kraft: Belicheck, im not really sure what they're relationship is, nor does it really matter.. all i said is that what they are doing in that organization, as far as bringing in intelligent players, is something that this organization clearly has no concept of how to do. They bring in guys, teach them the right way to play, to play for each other as a team, and they go. They win.. year after year, they win. They don't necissarily have the most athletic or most talented players.. but they have intelligent, hard nosed football guys. They know how to motivate them to play to their best, and to how to get everyone on the same page week in and week out.

Clearly, they are doing something much better and more efficient with their player evaluation over there than we even have the slightest clue how to do. Hopefully Garrett can bring about a change in the attitude of the players we bring in, and the type of players we bring in as well. Im sure Garrett, if allowed, will bring in solid, intelligent coaches who know how to get the best out of our players, and we can put a staff in place that will help motivate our guys and have them organized and playing smart, disciplined football week in and week out, and get everyone on the same page here.

We need structure badly.

Oh I think it's pretty clear, the comparisons.

True, but you have to admit Jerry and Kraft are vastly different in how they approach running their teams. Which one would you rather have the last 10 years. Krafts trusts Belichick to run his team and Jerry has set up most of his coaches to fail. I do hold out some hope that Jerry and Garrett will work together well and be really successful, it's all I can do.
