:star: So the Eagles didnt show up from the 1st play and we coasted the game last weekend - but i was already looking past this one and at the improving Giants team and the hot and cold 'Skins. I really feel that if we can come out of NY with a win we should have the Division locked up and will look to the big game against the Pack to cement Home field advantage. However if we lose on Sunday :lmao: , then we may have a worried look at the Commanders.
Personally i feel we have enough in the bank to beat both, especially after seeing the Giants at Wembley in London - yes thats where im from - and knowing we can get after Campbell and stop the run? of Portis.

This my first post/thread, so go easy on me but us Brits are more attuned the game than you think !!!

Cheers

Welcome. These are two big games coming up for sure. I'm hoping for a Cowboy sweep.

Looking ahead winning 3 divisional games in a row looks pretty darn near impossible. Looking at them week to week, each of the games look very winnable individually. If Dallas comes to play they should be able to win the next 2 games and position themselves for a first round bye.

Thanks guys - wasnt expecting a quick response like that!

Byong Thanksgiving we have 3 road trips to end the season out of last 4 - but will the Lions really be challenging then and the Panthers arent a force as they were 2/3 years ago.
Ireally think 12-4 is the minimum we can post this year.

The definition of this team will be told at the end of the year not over the next 2 weeks.

Indeed. Let's not forget what Detroit did to us last year at home. Although, I think defensively we are better prepared to handle them this year.

If you error on the side of caution, you have to look at the next 4 out of 5 games as defining the season really...Winning record teams which isn't something the Cowboys have faced a lot of, so far.

Taking off the rose colored glasses, even the consistency shown thus far will be forgotten if failures are turned up in the battles to come...It will either legitimize what they've accomplished thus far or bring back question marks.

I think this week is the most critical. I'm hoping for the following to happen:

Philly beats DC
Dallas beats NYG

That would give us a 3 game lead over the Giants, who would either be tied with DC or have one game on them (I can't remember the standings). I think NYG would be one game ahead of both DC and Philly.

Heading into the DC game, while I never like losing or want to accept it, there will be less pressure against them. That said, if it was a road game, I think we might not be as prepared against them. But we're at home, and we should have a great shot due to the crowd if we are overly confident.

I don't see the Jets beating us.

The Green Bay game is huge.

The two wins I want more than any are the Giants this week and the Packers game. While we can see an NFC East lead slip (Giants early last year, Cowboys end of last year), we would win two essential tiebreakers for the Division and possibly Home Field Advantage.

So if we go 3-1 this stretch, it puts us at 10-2.

The rest of our schedule would then be Det, Phi, Car, and DC. I can see us finishing the year at 13-3 with the #1 seed.

The Giants game and Packers game may be the two most important this year. Huge momentum builders or turning points. That said, it won't be easy but we got a great shot at winning both those games.

I know a lot of things can happen over the next few weeks, but you have to love Dallas' chances of ending up with at least 13 wins, if not more. Health will play a major factor. Looking at the remaining games, I like the Cowboys chances (maybe they even run the table).

I love it, even somebody all the way in England, referring to the Cowboys as "we"..... :)

Welcome to the boards.

I think this team will ultimately be defined by their success or lack thereof in the postseason. If we get a bye and can advance to at least the NFC championship game, then the season has been a moderate success. If we get to the Super Bowl or even win it, then we'll really like that definition

Hey Gaz - Welcome!

I believe the Eagles came out ready to play. McNabb got crushed and team followed his lead.

I dont think game vs the Giants settles anything.

A win put us at 8-1 and puts the Giants 6-3.... with 7 games to play... there is too much football to declare anything a lock.

Sorry you had to see the Giants... I was trying to get the Cowboys game sent over to ya ;)

I think the 11/29 game against GB is most likely of any regular season game to define public perception of the Cowboys. Both teams have a reasonable shot at entering the game with one loss It that happens, the winner will have the inside track in the race for home field advantage throughout the playoffs with only four games remaining.

There's a lot of wood to chop between now and then...

Only definition I'm interested in is how close we to are being a Championship team and no reg season game will determine that. What we do in the playoffs and how far we go will define this team
