I personally think that this is a great move. We have a boatload of picks tomorrow, yeah today wasn't sexy, but isn't that what we were all complaining about? Weren't we all begging JJ to stop trying to get the sexy picks? I think this is great. I'd rather have a boatload of picks in the 3-7th round than to blow all of them to get into the 1st and 2nd.

Bobby Carpenter - Drafted in the 1st round.
Tashard Choice - Drafted in the 4th round.

Who plays better ball?

Stop being homers, there are busts in the first two rounds, and still lots of hidden talent in the last 5. Quit complaining, mark my words, we will make out like bandits and you will all see 8 months from now.

The problem is, we don't have many spots open. Where are going to fit 12 players? All we are doing is drafting players for other teams to sign after we cut them. Should've just taken the BPA.

The idea you don't comprehend, is that we WON'T fit all 12 players. But if you bring hungry rookies in to light some ****ing fire under some of these lazy *******s we have sitting here collecting checks, maybe they will get their *** in gear and give a ****.

If we get 4-5 solid players out of this draft, whether it be from actually putting the draftee up as a starter or using them as motivation for a lazy starter we have that is talented, then I'm a happy panda.

alright you can make that argumnt but you also have to look at the other end of the spectrum...
Skyler Green-4th round
Demarcus Ware-1st round
Its a crap shoot to be sure but the chances of finding a really good player at the beginning of the draft are better than finding one later on

I see a lot of current players possibly getting cut.

Watkins
Battle
Free
McQuistan
Proctor/Holland
Polk
Octavien
Stanback (if he gets hurt again)
Ellis
Brown
Anderson

Davis and Curtis are already gone, and have yet to be replaced.

I see plenty of possible openings.

And if the player we take with the trade down ends up being this years Choice or Scandrick? And the player we would have gotten ends up being, say, a Carpenter or a Fasano? Are you still going to begrudge the other teams for signing our scraps?

How 'bout we just trust our draft board and wait and see what happens everybody? We may have had trouble valuing talent in previous years, but maneuvering around a draft is not one of Jerry Jones' weaknesses.

So you agree. It's a crap shoot. Getting 2 shots instead of 1 shot = win. Just my opinion.

If my grandma had a d!ck, she'd be my grandpa. It's hard to estimate that we'll get "4 to 5" solid players when none of them came higher than in the 3rd round.

Bobby Carpenter - 1st round
Marion Barber - 4th round

I see your point, and you're probably right, but this is one of several examples where it doesn't hold true.

Anderson is a solid FB, hes not getting cut.
We just signed Proctor to a tender...

If we cut all of those guys I don't think we have a backup OL...

I still wish we would've taken somebody. This is kind of depressing.

Yeah, you are right. If you draft enough 7th rounders, at least one of them will be good. Great strategy.

Oh yeah. I forgot. Only 64 players out of the entire United States of America in college per year are good players. The rest of the several thousands are Screech and Erkel. My bad dude.

And the fact that the value we got for the trade was just plain awful? I mean, just abhorrent. I would get it if we were planning on getting back into round 2 on similar terms, making something out of it...but we got fleeced on the terms of the deal.

51 for 75 and 110? Ouch ouch ouch.

I won't be upset, nor proud of this pick, until I know what the end result is going to be...

Well, of course we don't cut all of them, but a number could go (and most likely will). Look, I wish we'd have taken somebody, and I worry that JJ is getting too cute, but I'm just saying there could be a lot of turnover at the bottom of the roster.

(Besides, I don't know if any of our backup lineman are any good)

This was hard for me to watch some players I really wanted going to other teams. But this IS how you build dynasties. We have our stars on our team already. I feel like this is a good way to draft this year.

Mr. Pottymouth,

If you think the draft is designed for bringing in lots of lower round players to "light a fire" under players already on the roster, well, you're just plain wrong. It doesn't work that way. The only thing that would make sense from this trade would be if Dallas packages more of the 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks (several of which cannot be traded because they're comp picks) for more 3/4 round picks.

Otherwise, we will draft a lot of players that WILL NOT make our roster.

I'm finished now. Feel free to resume your cursing tirade.

Oh yeah, lets present the best possible scenario versus the worst possible scenario and see which you would prefer.

Good plan.
