I must concede to this simply because it is awesome. lol

Peplaw06, that wasn't a "regulation" game.

To other guy ranting about Texans in a Sooner uniform. Again, that should upset you more than me. It proves there are a few smart people down there. Guys that like to win conference titles year after year. Of course, we can't look past the fact that our Heisman winning QB is from Oklahoma City. The best tight end in the nation is from my hometown of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Several standout wrs are from Oklahoma. One from Muskogee and the other from Norman. Their best defensive lineman, and the best Dlinman in the nation (McCoy) is from Oklahoma City. Our best up and coming mike linebacker (Box) is from Enid, Oklahoma. Dom Franks - starting CB - is from Oklahoma. I could go on. Basically most of our Oklahoma players are standout Sooners. Add that to the massive number of Texas recruits and you have the greatest connection of players college football has ever seen.

Love me some Texas Sooners. My home town is considered "Texoma." Southern Oklahoma and North Texas. Just a goodole Texoma Sooner. :)

there will be more boys from Texas on the field when OU runs out there than anytime the Cowboys play on the field. Texas can't help the fact that Okies want to be in Texas so bad they'll now play two of thier home games in Texas.

I'm so glad they chose to leave Texas for Oklahoma. Championships are hard to come by down there. Gotta drive a bit north for those.

Did that game not have any rules? Did the refs not throw any flags? Did it not last at least 60 minutes divided up into 4 quarters of 15 minutes each? How was it not "regulation?"

Someone needs to tell the guy a game was played there last Friday night, so nobody is "opening" the stadium since the Cowboys already have.

And I think Dallas is home to as many OU grads/fans as UT.

Doubley true.

and that OU lineup is totally loaded with Texans

Now you're just in denial. I don't think I need to explain what a regular season game is. I think you know exactly what is. :)

DFWJC, then you should have no problem with OU. You shouldn't hate them if they are "just another Texas team." :) OU is a mixture of the best talent Oklahoma has to offer, and the best talent the state of Texas has to offer. That and a few other players scattered throughout the nation. I'm glad those Texas kids chose to turn their back on their home state and come play for their new home state. The state of the Big XII championship. 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Soon to be 2009. :)

A regulation game is not the same thing as a regular season game. Sorry you don't understand the terms. It seems your whole argument centers around whether it counts in the standings. If that's the distinction, then you can have that. It would be first football game "that counts in the standings" though, not the first "regulation" game. We've already had a game that was governed by rules, aka regulated, played at the stadium.

OU will be the first team to play a regular season football game in the new Dallas Cowboy's football stadium.

Meaning, OU will be the first to ever open the Dallas Cowboy stadium to the regular season.

And you're right about the difference between regulation and regular season. That's my bad.

Regular season COLLEGE football game. Who cares?

COLLEGE regular season.

But the stadium has been "opened." You can qualify it all you want, but OU's not going into the Guiness Book of World Records or anything. If there's some kind of record kept about who played the first football game in Cowboys Stadium, it will be the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans.

If I'm not mistaken, a regulation, official soccer match was played previously. I'd have to think that this would be the first official game that opened the stadium. I know, nobody wants to hear about soccer.

maybe Daschoo.

It's all good. OU will be the first team to kick off the regular season, NCAA or NFL.

OU is the team that will have the first official regular season win on that field. OU is the team that will open the 2009 football season in that stadium.

I don't know if you're a Texan that hates OU, but OU being the team that America will see first on that field for a game that truly matters is nice considering that stadium is the shrine of texas football.

It can be denied all day, but when all those hate fill texans hear "This is the official kickoff to the Dallas Cowboy stadium" I will enjoy the massive sounds of vomitting and crying coming from the texas faithful.

And yes, it's the official kickoff for football. Not a preseason game, not a soccer game, but a sell out football game that has early national implications.

We are gonna paint that place crimson and there's not a thing that can be done about it.

Many don't care, but whether you want to admit it or not, the mass majority of "true" texans are eating their hearts out. They won't admit it, but they are hating it 100%.

It's a good thing OU is opening that stadium up for the '09 football season because the other team that plays there won't even make it to the playoffs. PLAYOFFS? We're talking about PLAYOFFS?

Come next Saturday, Jerry's world will be turned into the Home of the Oklahoma Sooners. We will gladly take the first official win in that stadium. I think I may even purchase a piece of that turf from the game if it will be available.

I don't think it's a big deal either. It's not as if it's UTs home field, or any other Big 12 School. It's also not like the Cowboys are going to care. Nobody is ever going to confuse Texas Stadium with OU so I don't really see where it's all that big a deal.
