Is Oklahoma Opening Cowboys Stadium an Insult To Texas Football? - Bleacher

It's college football. Who cares? The preseason games have more meaning.

Besides, considering most of their players come from Texas it's really like the University of Texas North is playing in the game.

With a name and sig like yours, me thinks your just pushing an agenda.

There's been what.....3 soccer games, 3 concerts, and 1 Cowboys game.....it's been opened. The stadium aint a virgin anymore.

Edit: I just counted 46 Texans on the Sooners. We're the majority on the OKLAHOMA team :)

Regulation football, friend. Regulation football. Regular season football. You know, the kinda games that matter.
The record books won't discriminate.
The opening game in Cowboys stadium will always be the Titans vs. Cowboys game on August 21, 2009. The books won't even bother to list the OU game...

And I would agree on the fact that the OU vs. UT fanbase in Dallas is evenly split.

The author overrates the level of dislike for the Sooners in Texas, in my opinion. Only UT harbors any strong disdain for OU. A&M, Tech, and Baylor are all ambivalent, or at least no more opposed to OU than any other Big 12 team.

Seen that avatar before. Nice to see you found another site to annoy, Giggles.

This guy is an Eagle's troll. He's on both the Giants and DCMB and plays them against each other to create additional animosity against both fanbases.

Thought y'all should know.

Uh...technically it was opened with a concert and then soccer. Or vice versa. Either way it wasn't football.

The bigger question is: Was allowing an international soccer match to open 'competitive sports' at Cowboys Stadium an insult to America?

And, oh, the answer is also no.

I might disagree with that answer.

Ultimately I don't care if the Cowboys made money. But I still hate to see that abortion of a sport in that palace.

I dunno, Hos, using that word abortion for a sport.:(
I think you could have used a better word and I think you are big enough to admit it.
But your dislike of soccer is noted.

Wrong guy. Maybe the same avatar but you got the wrong guy.

Sorry.

Oh and it's the first regulation FOOTBALL game that will be played in the "mecca of Texas football."

OU will play the FIRST EVER regulation football game in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.

Gotta love it. The Sooners will break it in nice with a sell out FOOTBALL crowd to kick off the FOOTBALL season.

Yeah yeah. The regular season of football, pro or college, will be kicked off by the Sooners and BYU. OU will be the first ever team to play in that stadium in a regular season game.

And those Texans on OU's team should probably bother you a little more than me. I love 'em. They made a good choice. Big XII titles are a mofo. :)

Read the article.

OU is opening Jerry's world to regulation football, period. There have been concerts and preseason ballgames, but nothing like a season opening football game.

Screw regulation football. A FOOTBALL GAME WAS ALREADY PLAYED. It's college for Pete's sake. Who cares anyway? This guy is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

OU is getting the Dallas Cowboy's sloppy seconds anyway. :laugh2:
