Is OSA too light to be a DT in this new scheme?

The question is can OSA beat him man 1 on 1 or does he require stunts/twists to do it? The best way to help OSA out is get him a really powerful nose tackle next to him.

Searched him up, he's 280lbs, it's been said that we want to get bigger up front. With that said, could we possibly move him out at DE to get him some work out there, plug in a heavier Mazi and another big guy to man the middle??

Maybe in the nickel put him back at DT some or keep him at DE, this could be fun, please give your thoughts!
AA gap scheme will help.

Ran a 4.73 and tested off the chart. Make him our middle linebacker and get a bunch of run cloggers in the middle.

You're comparing Glover to Osa? Amazing stuff.
I was comparing their weight, but if you want to compare their production we can.

All of Glover's elite production came in New Orleans before he signed here. He never had less than 3 or more than 7 sacks in his 4 season in Dallas for an average of 5 sacks per year. Osa is averaging 3 sacks per year. Not a massive drop off.

And Osa is the least of our personnel problems. Not sure if you've been napping this entire off-season, but we're short a starting LT, OC, RB, NT, and potentially DE and WR3, depending on how confident this team is or isn't in Sam Williams and Jalen Tolberts. We can live with Osa starting at the 3T.

Since there is a lot more to it than that, I think you may need to do some figuring yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Outside of Tampa 2 guys(which used to scheme smaller DT's), those guys are outliers. Odighizuwa isnt good enough to be an outlier. He doesnt have a dominant trait like they did

The Media Guide lists him around 295, but I’m also of the belief he could get back down to 280-285 to play SDE and 3T on passing downs
I think they were heading toward more 3-4 for years and Osa was part of that retooling. Much more suited as an end on a 3 man dline. Too small for an every situation DT in a 4 man front, too big and slow to be a DE on a 4 man front. Pass rush specialist at DT. A waste, but it is what it is.

There's a cost to churning coordinators, especially without a football guy at GM to provide a consistent philosophy year after year.
So, new DC, new player types required, some existing types rendered nonviable in the new scheme.

DT is not always about having a 330 pounder in there to clog the middle. Depends on the technique, leverage, strength and football smarts a DT can have, Aaron Donald is only around 285 but played a lot bigger. At 32, he could come in here and be the best DL on the Cowboys by a mile. But in Osa and Mazi, i see them needing to gain as much weight as possible because they don't have all the attributes i listed above.

the guy is not an every down DT. he should be used primarily in passing situations. i think you would see an increase pressures and sacks if you used him this way. he is one of the primary reasons why this defense is horrible against the run. the guy gets bullied.

Crazy. We should be a 3-4 and Zimmer should adapt, Osa is one thing Parsons is another.
