Not sure if anyone else noticed this but a lot of the media critics and so called football experts are saying our secondary is going to be hurting next year and very exploitable. Did i miss something? I thought our secondary was going to be pretty good this year but i guess i was mistaken. Thoughts?

They didn't watch much of Orlando Scandrick. If Newman can stay uninjured I like our chances of being a good secondary, regardless if he's oppoisite Scandrick or Jenkins. Now going in again with Newman and Henry, I'll agree - Poor secondary.

Seconday is going to be better this year than last.

No doubt with the rookies having a year's experience and Henry gone. He was horrible. It was worse than Deion opposite Kevin "Pass Interference" Smith.

We seem to be attracted to these penalty-prone players. We also go from Hands-in-the-face Erik Williams to False Start Flozell Adams. Unreal....

Before Kevin Smith ruptured his achilles tnedon he was an excellent corner. If you don't believe me go ask Jerry Rice.

This is all because JJ made that statement about what if he brought back Pac-Man Jones?
The media, like they always do, ran with that statement and of course spun it off to make it look like JJ is worried sick about our secondary.
One minute the media is talking about how bad our wr's are because they can not get open against our improved secondary and then they turn right around and say how bad we are going to be in our secondary.
They act like we are going to believe the crap they write.
Most of the national stories about the Cowboys are going to be negative about our team...TO is gone so our team is going to suffer because of it.
Were gonna suffer...we didn't even make the playoffs last year with him on the team. Again another dose of the media feeding us BS!

I would be much more concerned about our 2ndary if A. Henry, K. Davis and R. Williams were still on the roster.

Jon88 -

1. Erik Williams - dont even try to compare him to Flo Adams and his problems. Williams was the BEST OT , no OL in football. Hands to the face was legal, they outlawed it cos he ***** slapped Reggie White too often and the league did not like one of its superstars being emabarrassed twice a year.

2. Kevin Smith was an awesome CB before his injuries.

Our secondary is getting critiqued because it is young. It has potential to be great but it could also be blown apart game after game, depending on injuries.

I have faith that our young CB's in Jenkins and Scandrick can be major players in this league and in time Mickens, Ball, DSmith and MHamlin be good too. But to annoint this secondary the best in years is going real far real soon.

.

Williams was not the best OT. He was just solid after his car accident and he used a lot of dirty tactics. Kevin smith was awesome, but then he tore his achilles. Hard for a CB to come back from that.

Sensebaugh is better then anyone else we had last year there. Henry really lost a step and it was obvious. And then there was Pacman and everyone was just waiting for the inevitable to happen and it did.
We have a top 5 guy in Newman and two 2nd year guys who looked pretty good last year and now have a whole year under their belts.
Frankly right NOW we have a top 10 secondary and if Hamlin can get back to his 2007 form (not having to cover for whoever was playing next to him should help) and Sensebaugh just does as well as he did last year we will be close to a top 5 secondary.

What the hell are you talking about? Big E was a beast!!! Every OT has his penalties, but the dude, as burm said, was the best, bar none, before his injury. calling out EW is just stupid especially in a thread that has nothing to do with OL.

Not calling him out. He just had a lot of penalties.

This alone, tells me that you have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about. Big E was a MONSTER and we haven't seen a RT like him since he left and Flo has been damn good throughout his above avg career.

I watched Williams. I saw him shut down Reggie White repeatedly. I just made a comment about his penalties after his car wreck. I never mentioned his play nor Adams's. Geez.

I've never heard Sensabaugh before. He sounds like a pretty sharp guy. Way to head the Roy questions off at the pass.
