Is Peterman still considered a bust?

Since he now starts for the Lions? And since he is a starter for an NFL team, do we now give credit to Parcells for drafting a quality starter for an NFL team? Just wondering...

Peterson was never a bust. He suffered a severe leg injury his rookie season and the Cowboys gave up on him before he fully healed. He is only proving what BP knew all along.

It's like saying Columbo was a bust before we got him.

Peterson problem was injury related. Dallas had a choice continue to hope he could return and stay healthy or move on. I’m happy for Peterson but I clearly understood the choice Dallas had to make

I think Cory Proctor just straight up beat him out.

If Proctor ever has to play I think we'd be pretty straight with him starting.

Exactly. Too many jump off Draft picks if they don't play evey single game. There's no time for them to develop. Dominate now or get the bust label.

True, however in the case of Peterman I think Dallas just got tired of waiting to see if he could get healthy and remain healthy. Dallas had to do the same with Jimmy Smith and he end up being a darn good player but there comes a time when a team has to make a choice. As I said I'm happy for Peterson and wish thing would have been different but the Cowboys did what they felt they had to do.

I REALLY wish Jimmy Smith had worked out in Dallas! Oh well, that's was injury related too, if I remember correctly. I remember watching a halftime show on him and what happened in Dallas.

It's part of the process, I suppose.

It is part of the process as new guys are being brought in to compete for the jobs while one player continues to miss time. We did the same with Rogers and that ended up being the right call you just never know.

Fair enough and I agree. I won't label a guy a bust until he can't land an NFL job anywhere.

If he has an NFL job he has value to a team. Even if he rarely sees the field.

Every team deals with it. Things worked out for the Cowboys and things worked out for Peterman. I love stories with happy endings :laugh2:

People act like you just have an infinite amount of roster spots and you can just keep as many people as you like for however long you please. I don't think we would be too happy if we had kept Peterson for another year of more rehab at the expense of keeping Jacque Reeves or Jay Ratliff.

We got Kosier, they got Peterman.

I think we came out on top.

Sure did....That Kosier sure can recover a fumble!
