Is Ratliff done?

This kind of thinking is why the Cowboys have remained so average between Super bowl runs.

I dont want serviceable players.
I want good to great players.

I'll take smarter than average fans.

Don't forget to open this same thread about Jason Witten when you can find some time. His time in the barrel is overdue, and I've heard from reliable sources that you can just use your eyes to see his blocking has really dropped off.

Witten is definitely not the blcker he once was but he can still get out in a route and move the chains as good as anyone in the league.

And still a vastly superior blocker than most all of the other highly productive receiving TEs in the league, many of whom are 240 lbs. guys coming from college spread offenses and little more than glorified WRs.

What do you think about a guy like Rex playing Kelly Gregg, who is about 6-0 and 310? He's another guy who is way "undersized" but had the strength, guts, and mental toughness to be good at the position. And those things are far more important than a big combine weigh-in.

Said if before, but sure, if you can find us a Vince Wilfork, we'll play him. But where do you get those guys? He'd be excellent even 40 lbs lighter because it isn't being an immovable fatbody that makes him good, it's his strength and athletic ability. He's a rare freak athlete, not just a 6-4, 350 lb number in a program like people clamor for every April but who never accomplish a thing, if they even make a team.

But I am curious, do you think Ryan is just stupid, or do you think he begs Jerry to get him a bigger NT and Jerry just refuses?

you play the cards you are dealt
the ravens traded up and drafted ngata even though they already had kelly gregg
when you have a smallish NT and smaller ILBS, that is not a good mix in the 3-4
i am by no means bashing ratliff, he has a lot of heart and guts but IMO he wears down as the season wears on and is partly responsible for our december woes

as far as rob ryan is concerned, i am hoping he is the answer but i am by no means sold on him
look at his record, people have always made excuses for him that he has not had the players but do we know this?
if his last name was not ryan, people would be clamoring to get rid of him

Ratliff is becoming Newman 2.0

He is injured more than this guy:
