Is Renewed Roster a Test for Shottenheimer?

You can win the Super Bowl with an imperfect team. Kansas City has done it. You need a cohesive team that strives to be complete even if they have weaknesses. They did what they can do strengthen the area of weakness.

This roster isn't perfect, but neither has the Chiefs' been. Let's say Javonte gets his burst back, and Blue hits. Plus, we brought in a bunch of low key talent as role players. I like what they've done.

Edit:

This roster is now leaning towards being stacked. Let's say Sam Williams plays to his potential, Parsons, Fowler, Ezeiruaku, Turner, Kneeland.

Then, I'm also really excited about Sanborn, and especially Murray with Marist Liafu.

I like what Solomon Thomas bring and I'm really starting to also like this Akingbesote guy.

In the secondary, we potentially have the best corner trio in the league. Throw in Elam and it really starts to Shape up. I'm also looking for my boy Juanyeh Thomas to push for a starting role. And he's good on teams.

With all the hype around Booker, Guyton, Beebe, plus already having Smith, you'd think our offensive line is staring to Shape up. I really like the depth there with players like Bass, Richards, Jones, etc.

My question is, does Jerry expect Shottenheimer to actually contend this year? What is Jerry's tolerance threshold for a guy like Shottenheimer if he takes this roster and tanks.

I think there's pressure to win now. Not much time for processes. Dak is getting old. It's now or never.

Does that out Shottenheimer on a short leash?

A test? Possibly but not in the way you may be thinking.

I'm hearing that WR #2 was spearheaded and driven by Shotty. I think Osa was a priority for Shotty/Flus.

May be a test to see how investing in the roster more pans out, so less about Shottys performance and more about opening up some with trades and FA, if that makes any sense.

I don’t think we have the defense to contend for a deep playoff run.

Just my opinion, obviously.

Assuming Dak and CeeDee are healthy, I expect the offense to be pretty potent

Schotty is headed to a 9-8 season. So in January the speculation on his tenure starts.

It's quite humorous to me that the Cowboys could ever be considered contenders for a Super Bowl anytime soon after the disaster of last season. Making the playoffs would be a miracle.

The Super bowl is an unrealistic expectation even for Jerry.

We are in the division with the Super bowl champs and the other team that played in the NFC championship game.

Some good football to watch while seeing the players and coaching staff develop together and a puncher's chance at making the playoffs is a much more realistic expectation.

I completely agree, this team has so many questions and while having added a couple of pieces they lost a bunch of pieces as well.

I've said all along it was going to take two full offseaons and two drafts to bring the team back to a level it could compete and im going to stick with that

I bet this team looks like crap the first half of the season and is very competitive in the backhalf - the problem is with their schedule its probably going to be an 8 win season at best
