Seriously .... Who is the top player on this roster? Used to say Ware easily. Is it now Romo or Bryant?

No, that distinction easily belongs to Dez Bryant on offense and Sean Lee on defense.

Being a very good QB makes Romo the most valuable. Who plays their position the best compared to the rest of the NFL? Bailey and Smith. Smith gets the overall edge given LT is a premium position. Dez would be next, followed by Lee. After that there is a considerable drop off.

I think Dez is most talented player on team. Lee is also high on that list (when healthy). I think what your asking is which players are trending up and down:

Trending up:
Dez Bryant
Terrance Williams
Travis Frederick
Machenzy Bernadeay
Tyron Smith
Kyle Wilbur

Trending down:
Miles Austin
Demarcus Ware
Tony Romo
Sean Lee (due to injuries)
Morris Claiborne
Bruce Carter

Even:
Jason Witten
DeMarco Murray
Orlando Scandrick
Doug Free

Dez. My favorite player though might be Frederick and he deserves mention as the MVP of this team this year IMO. The OL looks completely different this year with him at the anchor.

Dez is easily the most talented, but it's hard to say definitively who's "the best." It varies game to game it seems.

Tyron Smith
Dan Bailey
Jason Witten
Dez Bryant
Tony Romo

Top 5.

Smith anchors the line, Bailey is clutch, Witten is the slowest receiver, yet he creates the most separation. Dez can make a bad Romo pass look genius and Romo always gives us a chance to win.

Tyron Smith. He is playing at the highest level of anyone on the team and still has the most upside. Frankly, it's not even close.

I want to say Dez, but he hasn't made the tough catches consistently enough for me to put him above Tyron. The talent is there, but he still has big time lapses in concentration.

We have no best players on this roster. They're ALL being sorely compromised by a poorly run team.

If he was we'd be really f*****

Sean Lee is no all Pro but he right now is a better player then Romo.
Someone could make a statement with Hatcher. But to me that might be a little far streched.
I think Witten is (still) better.
Tyron Smith definetly is.
If Dez hadn't had alot of drops and fumblelitis i would say he is also better.
And of course, i forgot about him. Bailey is one of the best players we have right now.

Romo's not the best player but no one shoulders a bigger part of the load than he does. It's up to Romo to make up for a defense that can't hold a lead, no matter how large, and an archaic offense that does nothing to help him make plays.

"Best player" is hard to define anyway. Does it mean "most talented?" "Most productive?" "Most valuable?" "Most impressive career to date?" "Best chance to be an All Pro?" "Playing the best right now?"

Tyron Smith and Dan Bailey are #1 and #2 to me, in either order, hands down.

Teams game plan for Bryant and Witten. They are #2 and #3.

Lee is as good as they come at MLB, but hard to be best at anything when you don't do it.

So Romo is #4

The forgotten man here is Murray. He's getting good blocking, but you don't lead the League in YPA without being good. He was leading the League in yards after contact early in the season too. Murray #5. Frederick #6. Lee #7. Hatcher #8. Free #9. Scandrick #10.
