Yet another player that heard alot the praises of the good things to come the next year and comes up a frickin milk dud.....dam I'm starting to think we are the Jets of the NFC east. Ultimately it will be Dak that takes us down. Circle back.....We know this to be true DC nation. I like to call it groundhog day......Same ole Sh$#t.....different day. This forum is one wild over-reaction after another. Williams had a very solid, if not impressive first season. He's not been particularly impressive this year, but there's little to suggest he's sucked. He's participated in four tackles and brought 5 QB pressures. Has a respectable PFF score.

Williams had curtailed reps Sunday, likely due to his known case of turf toe.
It’s time for Williams to get on his horse and stay in the saddle.

Sam Williams doesn't seem to bright to me, but I really have no idea. I think he gave up a lot of snaps to Armstrong because Armstrong is getter defending the run. I would play him more because he needs experience against the run. Three years ago I thought DLaw was getting sucked inside too much on those outside runs, but he managed to improve his run defense and I think its because experience taught him to stay home and defend the edge. I'd give Sam more chances to learn.

Williams has played a grand total of 63 snaps on defense this season. 63!

A lot of you must be geniuses, being able to judge a player from such a small sample, sitting from your couch, beer in hand.

What’s the deal with Sam Williams? I was hoping he would step his game up this year. He only had 12 snaps vs the Cardinals!

Without Diggs our pass rush needs to be dominant. We need Williams to step up his game. Physically he is imposing! But does he have the mental makeup to be great( see Mika ) or even a full time starter?

Big disappointment so far this year!
Could be the turf toe injury he suffered near the end of August slowing him down. Depending on the grade, those can be difficult to recover from and definitely can affect your quickness.

My point is the guy got in trouble in college from what I've read. The same thing with Joseph. Players that are bad news coming into the nfl. How many have you seen make it big that have been drafted by Dallas lately. Go ahead and count em up, I'll wait.
Cut 'em!

Sam Williams is just another in a long line of second round draft picks wasted on a brain dead moron who cares more about drugs, guns and fast cars than he dos about being a professional football player. He is a J Jones special and currently wears the special second round draft pick cloak of protection.

well had Ray Lewis turn out?? there are far more positive examples of why you're wrong , than any proof to prove your point. facts didn't prescott have DUI issue in college and that's why he slipped in the draft??8 years later is he an alcoholic with a dui issue?
One exception does not make a rule.

Bad off field behaviors lessen the chances a player will succeed. The more bad behaviors, the more the chances lessen.

Williams has averaged slightly more snaps per game than Armstrong and Fowler. So as with most everything in this thread:

Wrong again.
My bad. That surprises me.

If his turf to is effecting his play that is a legitimate injury.

I still say he has the physical tools but he may not have the mentality( see Micah) to be a great player.

It’s a bit different when you screw up in college but get serious once you get to the nfl
Williams hasn’t shown any sign he gets it and continues to make bad decisions. I love the talent he has and I’m not saying cut him. But his future is in his hands and so far he’s shown no sign he’s ready to take his job and all the things that go with it, seriously
Hopefully he does because he has talent and can help this team

What the Boys need is a Parsons to start jumping on dudes for their lack of aggression against their opponents!!!!!!!!! Everyone keeps harping on the missing O-Linemen when it's the defense that should be called out for allowing the Arizona Cardinals to look like a playoff team! The defense was pathic ........................

No. I came after Sam Williams. A big underachiever so far this year. He said he wanted 10 or more sacks this year. So far he has a HUGE goose egg!!

Sam Williams has the physical tools to be very successful in this league. He is barely getting on the field. His off the field issues might explain his mental makeup?
100% agreed. It'd got to be mental. Someone needs to give him a good swift kick and a tongue lashing to piss him off and wake him up. He'd better realize the NFL doesn't wait for anyone. Wake up or get shipped out.
