Is Sam Williams another 2nd round bust?

What’s the deal with Sam Williams? I was hoping he would step his game up this year. He only had 12 snaps vs the Cardinals!

Without Diggs our pass rush needs to be dominant. We need Williams to step up his game. Physically he is imposing! But does he have the mental makeup to be great( see Mika ) or even a full time starter?

Big disappointment so far this year!
I thought he'd have a good year. Still may, but I agree, a no show through 3 games.

The cowboys are loaded at DE. If he turns out to be a star, the cowboys will have an experienced DE with little wear on him for his 2nd contract

Other cowboys DE draft pics are beating out a cowboys draft pick. That is not a bad deal

Sam Williams has shown some flashes, but as soon as you think he’s about to take the next step and become a great player, he disappears. He had a great game against Detroit last season. He had two sacks and three solo tackles, but disappeared after that. It’s starting to look like he’s not going to be as good a player as a lot of fans thought he was going to be. He’s been disappointing so far this season.

Last call I read Sam Williams is laboring with turf toe injury.
He maybe slowed with that.

That's usually a lingering on injury effect and Not a take 2 aspirins and call me in the morning type recovery.

So far just a rotational player. Need much more than that from a 2nd rounder. But at least he is making some kind of contribution fwiw

He is a offsides waiting to happen....we had enough of those sunday

It’s called depth!

He has been invisible so far. Not what was expected of him in year 2 yet.
I call it the sophomore slump.

See it all the time.

Players have solid rookie years then other teams get some film on them and adjust to their tendencies.

It was tough to get him in there when the cards running game was blowing us up. He’s not a run stopper.

Yes. I never expected him to pan out. He's got a lot of ability and he'll flash it here and there but he's a complete idiot. Don't waste your time trying to develop dumb players. They will let you down.

No. I came after Sam Williams. A big underachiever so far this year. He said he wanted 10 or more sacks this year. So far he has a HUGE goose egg!!

Sam Williams has the physical tools to be very successful in this league. He is barely getting on the field. His off the field issues might explain his mental makeup?
I hated it, but Sam Williams reminded me way too much of Charles Tapper. Been hoping I'm wrong, and it's definitely too early, but dang, I do think he should be showing more at this point.

He and Clark have been major disappointments
I was afraid of Clark also. Because of this predraft scouting report: "Info processing is still developing. Late to recognize route development. Short area quickness is lackluster. Poor lateral mover who will have to eat blocks to get around them. Slow to rev up his engines in pursuit. Play speed rarely reaches full potential. 80% player who just never seems to turn it on."

I saw a lot of people getting excited over this cat, I just never saw it.
