Carolinas in for a long year and needs to draft a QB next year. They are w/o a 1st in 2010, traded it for Everette Brown. I think Smith could be had for a deal similar to the RW deal.

You can probably eliminate us b/c we need our 1st for a stud OL. But Smiths contract isnt backloaded so theres that.

Do the Giants make a move?

Trust me, the Panthers will do EVERYTHING possible to keep him. Without Steve Smith, there are no Panthers.

Yes but hes around 30 and has 1st and third round value right now. They have no QB waiting in the wings and no 1st next year. Also why waste his prime while youre rebuilding?

Obviously you didn't see Carolina's running game last year... Delhomme put up the ball too many times in the playoffs, they didn't rely enough on the ground game against Arizona. They didn't run the ball enough against Philly either.

I thought the eagles knocked them out. Then again I didn't watch the playoffs last year.

We could trade our 1st, Romo and Flo for him. They are way overrated. Maybe add Newman to sweeten the pot? Barber?

Exactly. All they needed to do was rely on that Williams/Stewart combo, but no. They were down by a little bit and switched to panic mode. The mad bomber Delhomme went crazy and threw about 5 picks to that horrible AZ defense.:bang2:

I'm assuming in this scenario you are gonna deal Coakley in a different trade for someone else. Otherwise I have no idea why you wouldn't include him. :p:

Nope, the Cardinals beat them.

I would rather rescue Julius Peppers, I still don't trust Spencer to take any heat off Ware. Plus Cowboys cannot afford to burn any more first rounders on WRs, especially after the TB game.

If anything, Cowboys really should have rescued Seymour. He would have been a monster in Wade's schemes. Seymour, Rat and Ware would have been Doomsday III.

I love all these "should we trade for" or "will they trade this guy" threads. Steve Smith isn't going anywhere. He has a huge contract, he's 30, and they just gave their crappy QB a huge contract too. They won't be drafting a QB for at least a season or two. At this point, they have no choice but to ride out the Delhomme Meltdown Express and hope it comes to a stop soon.

I would pass on Smith. I really want to give this group of WR Dallas has a chance.

I highly doubt they'll be drafting a QB in the first round this offseason, even if they had a first rounder, given the huge money they just gave Jake in an extention this offseason. They're tied to that wagon for another year at least.

Seymour would have been a horrible move for Dallas. We are still trying to lock up Ware and Seymour's deal expires at the end of the season. Ditto for Peppers. Now, It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Jerry lock up Ware this season and go hard after Peppers in the off-season. Especially if Spencer doesn't contribute to taking pressure of of Ware. Seymour will get a new deal in Oakland before the year is finished. If not, someone needs to euthanize Al Davis. A 1st round pick for 1 year's worth of service is beyond senile, it's outright insane.

As a side note, the dominating performance that Seymour put on display Monday Night is proof positive that Bill Belicheck's players are some of the smartest and well coached players in the league. To step in without a week's worth of practice to a scheme you've never played, play ALL FOUR positions along the line and to dominate the way he did is nothing short of amazing. That guy is a hell of a player. And, it seems, he's ten times the play maker in a 4-3 scheme.

If he were younger, absolutely, but I really want to see what we can do with our existing group of receivers.

Remember the Joey Galloway trade? Not saying they are equal, but I would prefer a bigger and younger WR like a Boldin or Brandon Marshall (i see the some flames).
