You lost a draft pick getting this guy so you stash him on IR a few weeks …work with him coach him up just don’t get nothing out of the trade . Absent any better alternatives it wouldn’t surprise if Linval Joseph had to go IR soon and Phillips is brought in . Coach him Zim .

I just hope this mistake isn't compounded by the league sanctioning the Cowboys for stashing a player on IR. The could lose another draft pick.

The Cowboys should have been suspicious when the Giants were willing to let him go to them for a conditional draft pick. Clearly they were going to cut him anyway.

I saw him play a little in a preseason game. He was bad, even against scrubs. He played in the second half against Cleveland, and again, he looked pretty bad. Against the Saint he was just awful. I have no idea what is wrong with him, but if he thinks he deserves to again I would cut him just for that.

The case deepens when one considers Jordan Phillips
PFF grade is 29.6, among the lowest grades in the league among defensive linemen, according to CowboysWire.

Why would Jerald go to these lengths for this scrub?
Why?
Because our DT room absolutely blows.

Oh, he's got an injury alright, it's his muscles, his quick twitch muscles have been obliterated.

What makes this whole Phillips episode worst is you now lost a 6th round pick to the Giants in 2026 . You get back the Giants 7th rounder that year . Hopefully the Giants are still terrible next yr so the pick in 26 isn’t buried . Still you lose your 6th rounder .

Philips had to be active for 2 games to trigger the draft pick swaps . So you lose a 4th for Lance and a 6th for the wrist gate episode .

George Allen the late HC in Washington was famous for throwing draft picks in the garbage . And one yr Mike Ditka traded his entire draft so he could draft Ricky Williams . An absurd trade …. Jerry treating draft picks with the same disrespect .

You can find players in round 6 Jerry .
Welllll, some org's can.

Zimmer probably wanted a new body in the building and Jerry didnt want to cut him because he just gave up a draft pick for him.
That sounds about right to me , I could not believe how bad Phillips looked .Jerry and Son have dropped the ball,at defensive tackle again, and it is rearing its ugly result.

Wrist gate, only the Cowboys. Seems like they are singling him out for what was a disaster in every aspect of the D. Pretty crappy if you ask me
His position happens to be the most glaring weakness and creates a snowball effect to the LBs and back half of the defense.
It's a business. You're only as good as your weakest link.
Dude looked like he was playing on roller skates out there.

DLLS show reported on this today. Sounds like he told multiple people when interviewed he doesn't have a wrist injury and shouldn't be on IR.
If I were him getting blown off the ball I would have said it was my wrist for sure

Yeah, that's not the answer anymore.

This "coaching them up" idea has been spewed over and over and over. It's not that simple, and not near as big a deal as people are thinking. To "coach someone up", first the physical tools have to be there, and then if they need "coaching up" that means they are raw. Just not really all that relevant.
