Yeah, that's not the answer anymore.

This "coaching them up" idea has been spewed over and over and over. It's not that simple, and not near as big a deal as people are thinking. To "coach someone up", first the physical tools have to be there, and then if they need "coaching up" that means they are raw. Just not really all that relevant.
People were talking about Carl Davis having upside when we signed him. The guy was what, 31? lol

Coaching a guy up that can’t practice because he’s on IR is certainly a strategy. It’s about as sound as trading for the stiff to begin with.

If the wrist isn't injured, it's the Cowboys giving Phillips another four weeks to get into playing shape.

It could also be an excuse to not play him, thus saving the Cowboys from having to send the Giants compensation for trading for him.

Phillips says it's not injured.
Why are the FO fools so covetous of the Phillips scrub?

Now I am doing what I criticize the most: agonizing and hangwringing over marginal players tha most teams would cut in a second.
We can do better, good chaps all.

Because he prolly has the most talent among the DT's on the roster. He's always had the talent, he just refuses to put in the effort to play like it. Get a kick of this, his scouting report predraft said he stands up at the snap way too often, negating leverage. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, now what's he doing wrong?

Think a less talented Albert Haynesworth.

What makes this whole Phillips episode worst is you now lost a 6th round pick to the Giants in 2026 . You get back the Giants 7th rounder that year . Hopefully the Giants are still terrible next yr so the pick in 26 isn’t buried . Still you lose your 6th rounder .

Philips had to be active for 2 games to trigger the draft pick swaps . So you lose a 4th for Lance and a 6th for the wrist gate episode .

George Allen the late HC in Washington was famous for throwing draft picks in the garbage . And one yr Mike Ditka traded his entire draft so he could draft Ricky Williams . An absurd trade …. Jerry treating draft picks with the same disrespect .

You can find players in round 6 Jerry .
Trading a next year 7th for a this year 6th is kinda like not trading anything lol

Can we get Zeke on the IR and bring up Cook. I’m betting cook can beat Zeke 3 yards per carry. Risen might can beat Zeke 3 yards a carry
