You don’t draft need, but you’re mindful of surplus. Like Cincinnati isn’t going QB if they end up with a top 10 pick. Philly would never go DT. Chiefs won’t go IOL. Chicago isn’t going WR.

Why are you so sure Dallas won’t pay Bland? Jerry’s team architecture is based on keeping star talent rather than paying for other people’s; you can’t compare it to any other team in the league. Keeping an All-Pro CB is exactly what he’s doing this for.
Because we won’t pay 2 CBs…can’t remember Jerry doing that in the last 20 years.

He’s going to let Bland walk, or pay Boand and trade Diggs.

Either scenario Hunter is a grand slam pick if he falls to us.

He won’t…we’re already paying Diggs. Unless he trades Diggs this year which I find highly unlikely.
you keep forgetting the shiny toy syndrome he suffers from
If Bland keeps making headlines and impressing fans and so on, Jethro will keep him

Right now we are lumped in with 4 other 3 win teams and ahead of 5 2 win teams. However our remaining schedule is unforgiving. One of our two remaining "winnable" games is a teamnwe barely beat when we were much healthier. Losing out and landing the #1 overall pick is definitely a possibility
It is not out of reach, Dak isn't coming back and they may want to see what Lance can do. Giants/Carolina, lose 1 and we will be in range.

There are some really bad teams in the league this year. Jacksonville, NYG, Cleveland, Carolina, Las Vegas, Tennessee are probably all going to lose more games than Dallas. It is amazing how the Giants are drafting early every draft for years and they are still an awful football team.

Agreed.

No chance we end up with #1. But losing to Carolina and New York should put us around top 4-5.

Jags and Titans play twice. That gives one of them two wins or each team one win.

Doubt Cleveland or the Raiders win another game. But they likely win 1 random game thrown in there.

Per ESPN

Average draft position: 9.6
FPI chance to earn No. 1 pick: 1.5%
FPI chance to earn top-five pick: 19.3%
FPI chance to earn top-10 pick: 58.5%

We did jump from 11 to 9 with the Dolphins and Saints winning today.

I don't think so. I think we're gonna end up around 5-8. There are a LOT of bad teams.

The rebuild did start this year. Drafting in the top of the draft is part of the process.
No it didnt. If it did. Dak would be playing out his remaining deal and the future HC would be deciding if they keep him or not.

Stop defending this FO.

They are currently indefensible.

some people are just unable to admit they are wrong
Jethro still has defenders here; though they are trying to throw shade

I now wish Tolbert had dropped that pass in the end zone against the Steelers or that they had recovered the fumble the play before. I don't see us having a chance at the number 1 pick, maybe top 5. Much of that will depend on how much Jacksonville, Tennessee, NY Giants, Carolina and the Raiders want to win any of their remaining games. I think these teams and us will be vying for the top five spots. I am hoping that the Giants see the Thanksgiving game as their Super Bowl. Even with a top pick, I would not want QB, Hunter, or Jeanty. Best case scenario is that a team wanting to move up to get a QB trades with us. We drop back about five spots and take the best defensive lineman available, DT or DE.

our SOS alone is going to make sure we do not get the first pick.

I take it that SOS trumps head-to-head matchups? For example, if we finish with the same record as the Saints who thrashed us, they would still get a pick before us if they had an easier SOS?
