Everything would point to that but it’s also difficult to repeat that level of success and to not have any key injuries to all of those weapons. That might be most difficult to repeat to not have any injuries to QB, RB and WR’s.The offense should be better with another year of same system and players in my opinion, and yes having our receivers and a decent offensive line along with javonte w killing it, yes it's elite.
that’s a really good reply! To clarify, I didn't mean mobility as a weapon didn't matter inside the 10. I meant that Prescott's decreased mobility doesn't matter as much in close. It's not like he's on crutches out there. He is no Josh Allen or prime John Elway but he is still very capable of seeing an opening and lumbering his way a few yards to a TD or a gain improving the odds for the next down.
Yes, I understand that top RZ teams typically have good rushing attacks. The Rams were 16 total yards better than the Cowboys on the season with the same number of carries and the same ypc. The Eagles and Bengals had less total yards. The Eagles on more carries while the Bengals had significantly less carries. Both with a lower ypc then the Rams and Cowboys.
Hurts and the tush push was definitely a factor in their rz success. We saw them run it 3 or 4 straight times to bull their way in from the ten. I consider them an outlier of sorts in this discussion.
A legitimate question might be, why did the Rams have more success in the rz with an immobile QB but essentially the same production from the rushing game as the Cowboys? Why did the Bengals have more success in the rz with a markedly worse rushing attack?
It seems like the crux of your argument is that the Cowboys very respectable rushing attack became pedestrian once it got to the rz which put all the pressure on the QB. I'm having trouble accepting that logic as nothing really changes for the defense with regards to defending the rush. The condensed field makes it easier to defend the pass but that doesn't translate to the rushing defense. Unless of course the defense commits to defending the rush at the expense of the pass defense.
The logic seems to suggest a probable reason for the dropoff in the running game in the rz is more likely to be the defense choosing to focus on that and taking their chances on Prescott beating them which because of the characteristics I pointed out earlier he struggles to do.
Stafford and Burrows are more confident and better at handling the short windows and making the quick decisions.
The offense didn't let them down against inferior competition, but I have mentioned a bunch of times they seem to collapse under pressure - defensive pressure. The offense came to a halt when the offensive line could not protect Dak. That was their weak spot. If Steele and Guyton don't improve, it will be the same in 2026.We keep on hearing how the Cowboy offense is elite, but yet there were games last season where they truly underperformed:
14 points at Chicago-yes they lost Lamb early, but if I remember Chicago had a banged up secondary
20 points at Philly-they were shutout in the 2nd half where their defense only surrendered 3 points
17 at home against the Cardinals-there is zero excuse to lay an egg at home against one of the worst teams.
17 at home against the Chargers-Chargers dominated them
These are just a few examples. Everyone keeps on talking about the defense cause it was so bad, but the offense deserves some criticism as well. They must be more consistent or it won't matter how the defense performs.
You do realize I don't even have to take 10 seconds to counter some of that every team has an off game but you already said they lost Lamb in the Chicago game wasn't that the game that Williams had a long run and then fumble that would be in the red zone turned the ball over not the offense's fault on the whole individual fault One player lost one player fumbles They have a pretty good defense,We keep on hearing how the Cowboy offense is elite, but yet there were games last season where they truly underperformed:

What is elite? If you ate a top 5 scoring offense in the league, you are elite. Imagine a team scoring 17 and winning? Wow, a novel concept.Just saying I keep hearing the work elite regarding this offense and I don’t think they are there yet
If you are top 5 in scoring, your tackles are a hell of a lot better than the vast majority of teams. We have one hell of a fantasy football lineup on offense. Don't worry, offensive tackles don't score points in Fantasy Football, and your Defense won't make or break you. Our rep is secure.
Yeah I think it’s weird people use yards over points. I don’t care how many yards they give up. Points matter.our D was 32nd in scoring defense. they were 6th all time worse. yards are irrelevant.
It has always bugged me that they rank both offense and defense by yards and not points.Yeah I think it’s weird people use yards over points. I don’t care how many yards they give up. Points matter.
I hope you recover flowerIt was painful to watch you tap dance all over the place once you realized how stupid your original comment was
These same running backs are the same guys we had last year and I remember fondly peoplr thinking we sucked. I expect them to be good but I have a suspect Blue, suspect Mafah and Javonte who has an injury history. In all seriousness, why?
I can understand some concern about the T's, but reports indicate that Guyton may be getting things under control.
As far as run game, the interior is the key and they are as good as any in the league. All our backs are being productive in camp against what should be the best defensive front we've had in years.
I just don't get why anyone wouldn't feel confidence in the run game.
In year 6.These same running backs are the same guys we had last year and I remember fondly peoplr thinking we sucked. I expect them to be good but I have a suspect Blue, suspect Mafah and Javonte who has an injury history.
The problem with using points is that the offense and special teams can contribute to points against with no impact from the defense.Yeah I think it’s weird people use yards over points. I don’t care how many yards they give up. Points matter.
Our defense was legendarily bad. I am just saying our offense is good but has a long way to go before I say we our special. The offensive is ok but not special. Our tight ends are average. We have a solid running back but we need more from the backups. Looking forward to the improvement as the season goes on. We need Guyton, Bebe, Flournoy, ect to step up.yes, very true. when your defense is non existent and in those games literally they were non existent, then your offense doesn't score every drive like the opposing team does, then you become one dimentional. you are in constant catch up mode and it makes it easier to defend. just drop 7 into coverage. and pin your ear back and rush the passer and they did that easily.
