Is the Dallas Commanders Rivalry the best in Sports History?

I would have to go UNC_DUKE in basketball...

It's a big rivalry for Skins fans, but for Cowboys fans I think it's the Eagles.

I think it's one of the best rivarly not only b/c of the heated past but also b/c of the great rivalry names also.

COWBOYS VS INDIANS

You never know what's gonna happen even if one team is a bigger favor over the other. For instance:

-1-15 season - Steve Walsh leads the Cowboys to their only victory at Washington
-Jimmy Johnson onside kick the year everyone picked the Commanders to win the superbowl.
-Cowboys lose to Commanders the year the boys win the superbowl and Jimmy lays it on the team on the plane ride home
-Rocket Ismail has that game winning bomb from Aikman to beat the skins
-Santana Moss spoils the triplets ring of honor day

So much history...

In sports history?

Oh hell no.

In NFL history?

Possibly.

I think Green Bay/Chicago is a much bigger rivalry than Dallas/Washington.

I had a discussion with my friend who says it's OSU And Michigan, im sure some of you watched that hbo special about it. Also you have the Yankee , Redsox rivalry.

But what do you all think , is the Cowboy's Commanders the biggest rivalry in sports history?
I don't think it is the best because we have owned them. During the George Allen years it was the fiercest rivalry I ever saw. I can't call it the best.

Duke vs. North Carolina in college basketball is up there.

Ohio State vs. Michigan in NCAA football.

Yankees vs. Red Sox in baseball.

Lakers vs. Celtics in the NBA.

All of these are pretty intense.

Ridiculous. Nothing holds a candle to Yankees-Red Sox.
Pretty much anything that isn't baseball holds a candle to that. Those games are borderline all-star games, anyone who isn't a fan of baseball should hate it.

SPORTS meaning all sports, without a doubt Rangers v Celtic in the scottish premier league(and i'm english so have no connection at all).

Nothing comes close. Yankees-Rd Sox is not even in the same stratosphere. The passion displyed on game days is like nothing you will EVER experience on earth i promise you.

NFL - Skins/boys used to mean alot, not so much now, we havea better rivalry with the Gmen and Eagles.

Pats/Colts means more than any other game year after year the last 10 years.

As soon as I read the thread title...OSU / Michigan poppped into my head.

Here in DFW area, they will say it's Texas / Oklahoma, and too them that grew up with it, it may well be it TO THEM.
Because most people here don't think football exists outside of the Big 12. And in their own little world, if you tell them that, they will say they are right, because it doesn't.

but I will put Cowboys / Commanders 2nd.

None of the above. The Yankees and Red Sox are the most hated Rivalry... but up until a few years ago Boston just got whipped from post to post.

Its the Cowboys vs. 49ers.

Series History:

The Cowboys and 49ers obviously have a long history that includes epic postseason and regular-season battles.

Overall, the 49ers lead the series 16-15-1, which includes seven playoff games.

The Cowboys are 5-2 over San Francisco in the postseason, including four meetings for the NFC Championship . . .

I honestly hate the Niners more than I do the skins. I tell people here in DC all the time that many Cowboy fans in Texas do not really care about hating the skins like that. They do however hate the Niners. Good reason for this is because there are tons of Niner fans in Texas and we dealt with them more on a daily basis than Commander fans.

But for college football. I don't think OSU/Michigan is the biggest rivalry for the sport. ESPN would have you to believe that it is since they have to cover Big 10 football. It's just one of the big rivalries in the sport. It's top 5 though. However, it's basically where ever you are. In the South-Central, it's Texas/OU. In the southeast, it's the Iron Bowl. I don't think there is a more unique rivalry than the RRS though.

For me, "the catch" game and that "abomination" of a game against the niners in NFC title game of 90s (you know, the one where we spotted them 21 pts in first 12 mins of 1st qtr) :banghead:. Those two game cut deep. Deeper than any others for me.

AND... the Cowboys were the first ELITE team. The next closest ELITE team is the 49ers... partially cause they beat us but mostly because of Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.

The one where we spotted them 21 points does it for me as well. The catch doesn't affect me as much since I wasn't alive yet (born in 83) but I'm still very upset about that because we could be sitting at 6 Lombardi's right now. But the 1995 NFC Championship game pisses me off and we STILL had a chance to come back and win. I also remember Deion obviously interfering with Irvin's ability to catch the ball because if he doesn't, it's 31-28 with a lot of time left to go in the game because Irvin is walking into the end zone. :banghead: Not to mention their annoying fans. I could have swore we would beat them in TS in 1995 and we went out and lost to Elvis Grbac? 38-21. I got it in school the entire week.
