Is the Defense really that bad?

I look around the league and have to say its not at bad as it looks Because we do very well against the rum

defenses around the league are getting beat and leaving men wide open at an alarming rate

but even though our D isnt stout id say theyre somewhere around the 23-28 range out of 32 teams

theyve got alot of work to do and very little time to get it done

Alarm bells went off when Nolan was hired.

Let’s be real.

He is washed up as a DC. And we have Edwards on staff. Who is a real DC.

I dont mind the Nolan hiring myself thats just me....

But One of the coaches needs to train them to react....its almost like all of them wait until a pass play takes shape then they decide to read it

I'm not changing anything your acting like this defense is primed to hold teams under 20 if only the offense could stop turning the ball over, thats not even close to accurate. This defense is bad, are the turnovers hurting, of course and like every other team we will have turnovers, hell amazingly enough other teams defenses get turnovers......hell I would be happy if they just stop losing receivers all over the place its ridiculous...
So it is pretty much N accepted fact the single biggest factor in a teams wins and losses is the TO differential. Have we lost the turnover battle in each game? You can not win if you turn it over, and we have turned it over in ridiculous numbers in the first 3 games.

Of course the turnovers hurt, but if your expecting us to win any tunrover battles when we get ZERO from our D, its going to be a tall order...Dak has shown these turnovers are an outlier and probably wont continue, can you say the same thing about our D having 1 to 0 turnovers in a game?

See the problem is if our offense makes one mistake in 80% of the games the last 10 years we are going to now lose the turnover battle

If a guy catches a TD, I would at least like to see one of our guys on the screen. That's progress at this point.

Weve had SEVEN turnovers in 3 games. The defense hasnt played great, but only last week were they horrible. Rams game was 17 points, and against Atlanta im guessing at least 17 were a direct result of the offense handing those points to the opponent.

Yea, our defense stinks at creating TOs, but if our offense played clean, wed be 3-0. Again, Seattle is at the very top of everyones NFC SB contenders right now, and we could have easily won that game if our offense didnt KILL US. That doesnt mean im saying our defense is good..... but defense is NOT what is going to win a SB this year. Baltimore has a kick arse defense, right? Howd they look Monday night?

Ive said the same thing in another thread, the league doesnt want Defense winning games they want scoring so they slant the rules to it, Baltimore got shut down by a good defense BTW. Playing mistake free football is always the goal, Reality is there will be plays made by the other defense at times, can you say our defense matches the other defense in plays made to change a game? Reminding you that the Seahawks defense ranked as trash but they made plays on big downs our defense gave up another wide open TD on their chance.......

It will look a hell of a lot better over the next 5 weeks, especially against Philthy, Giants and Washington. Unfortunately all that does is give false hope to the Kool Aid drinkers.

kool aid drinkers? Someone is going to the SB and its damn near a different team every year. Were Falcons fans koolaid drinkers a few years ago when they made it and should have won it? Then have stunk since. The difference between winning and losing is so small in the NFL... one play on Sunday... ONE PLAY, and we win that game.

And if the Falcons players knew football 101 we’re 0-3.

BTW, I have money on the Cowboys to win the SB but I know the difference between beating good teams and bad teams. The same people who will be preaching how we turned the corner a month from now are probably the same ones who were crowning us SB contenders and Kellen Moore the next HC in waiting after beating the likes of Miami, NY and Washington to start of 3-0 last year.

The Cowboys defense is 32nd in the NFL in TD:INT ratio. That might not be "that bad" if there were more than 32 teams in the NFL.
