Is the door open for the Cowboys to take the NFCE?

I wouldnt read too much into last night, Eagles and Giants are still 1st and 4th in the division and very likely will be at seasons end.

If our defense weren't so bad, absolutely, we'd have a shot at the division. The Eagles look like crap without Moore running their offense. The Giants are still the Giants and the Commanders are still the Commanders.

But as much as I'd love to drink the kool-aid, we still have a seriously awful defense that will keep us from achieving anything this year. We'll be in a fight every game, basically.

Now, if Jerry were to trade for Crosby or a legit MLB, we might have a shot. But I don't think that's happening.

I think Washington is the team to beat. Philly without Jalen Carter in the middle seems very beatable. Their offense is stuck in the mud. So, yeah we have a chance. But the Giants since they inserted Jackson Dart are a different offensive team. Skateboo is looking legit. They put a beat down on the Eagles last night. I think the East is going to be a battle.

Moore helped him, of all things. This year, Hurts looked rusty that game against us, as did some of our players, probably because neither team played any starters not rookies during the preseason.

Hurts sometimes goes through his progressions and sometimes doesn't. I've seen him hang is and make his reads, and I've seen him bail as well. He's certainly not like Rodgers or Mahomes, guys that get four reads out in three seconds.
To be honest, how many QBs do that anyway? Most have a good idea of where they are going at the snap.

I remember back in 2022 one of their coaches, I forget if it was the OC or Sirianni, but he said in an interview with a radio station, Hurts goes 1 or 2 reads and then does his thing. But it worked. I wonder how many QBs do that as well.

The back breaking pick he threw last night was just one read. He had AJ open had he looked.

Eagles are not winning the NFC east this team should have lost to us and the Rams. They have many holes and flaws it is finally catching up to them.

Or I could ignore valid questions like you do. I asked you to show a link to where I stated the Jets would beat the Cowboys as you claimed I did. You went M.I.A. and never responded.

So you might want to keep your hypocritical trap shut on this one.
I'm not following this debate, but even if you did say that, it's not a bad take. The Cowboys were going into that game with 6 of 11 starters on offense out. I thought we could lose that game. I never expected a blowout win.

After watching the Giants put the strap to the Eagles last night, the division is wide open. This is only week 6. A lot of stuff can happen.

I see the Cowboys playing with high intensity despite the flaws. That's all we can ask for. I haven't seen this in years. That doesn't mean all that much since I saw that in 1989 as well. But you can't ask for more. We also have a much better roster than back then. Anything is possible.

We desperately need LBs. We have zero starting quality LBs on the roster at present. I mean, our LB room is horrific.

All of the good ones.

Coaching and escaping NY will do wonders
Too many teams are going to that Kyle Shanahan O. Requires the QB to play hero ball as well as getting him killed. No idea if that's what they run, but many teams are.

Shamar James has a ton of upside and Marist Liufau is solid when he's not committing dumb penalties.

"You are what your record says you are." - Bill Parcells
Yup…allegedly. The previously 4-1 Eagles with the 3rd worst offense and 17th worst defense were exposed last night. They won 2 of their 4 games due to a Lamb drop and 2 blocked FG’s. Their stats say more about them then their wins.

What about the 2022 Vikings and Giants. Vikings were 13-3 with one of the worst defenses in NFL history and also one of the worst point differentials of all time. The 9-6 Giants were probably the luckiest team I’ve ever seen, they were closer to a 4 win team and were completely exposed by the Eagles in the playoffs. The 13-3 cowboys were exposed multiple times in the playoffs by teams with lesser records.

So no, I think Parcells is one of the greatest coaches and I have tremendous respect for him but I don’t agree with that statement and I think people take it too literally.

had the Cowboys been smacked by the Giants like that, would you read into that?
The Iggles have LUCKED out over and over this season, exactly as they did in 2023. They are not a powerhouse team, no matter how hard people want to put their head in the sand.

No but then the Cowboys arent the current super bowl champs.

Well said.
