Is the mountain too high to climb?

I agree Washington doesn't scare me at all sure much respect for getting to the NFC championship game but they had a lot of help and a lot of luck and you're right they nearly lost to us twice with a backup quarterback it's a backup team I mean literally almost the whole team in the second game was backups and they literally had to use Marcus Mariota just to win and everybody's giving a little bit too much credit to Jayden Daniels I mean he deserves respect what he did was impressive for a rookie but I saw the same things with Prescott when he was a rookie not that big a deal but yes they should be respected but not scary at all no way I'd be worried about this division..

If you add to it the eagles are not going to be the same team next year...

they've already let go of two of their corners, I mean they're going to have to make some cuts ,losing coaches, in my opinion they overpaid the running back.. I mean yes he deserved a big contract but $20 million for a running back?! I mean I know Saquon Barkley was great last year, but what if the same thing happens to him that happened to Christian McCaffrey they gave him 19,000,000 per for two years that was 38 million, he got injured and even in his year he was healthy they didn't win the Super bowl..
I mean there's a risk being taken by the eagles so they may not repeat winning the division so with luck maybe the Cowboys once again win the division and maybe the other teams have the injury problems maybe the other teams have the bad luck it happens every year is very different I'm not saying the Cowboys are gonna be successful but injuries really sidetrack the Cowboys more than anything last year...
Bradberry didn’t play last season. Slay might be re-signed for all you know. The Commanders are going to take steps to improve their roster. They’ll likely be more aggressive than the Cowboys. Daniels is better than Prescott and Hurts. They’re going to take advantage of a great QB on a rookie deal to get to a Super Bowl. Perhaps the Cowboys aren’t scared of the Commanders. I’ll bet the Eagles are.

You do realize the team created $36.7 million of cap room by restructuring Dak's deal and by the time they have to repay the dead money on it, the cap will have increased by at least 40 million anyways?

The Cowboys are not crippled by any contract. The Jones Boys only want you to think that way as a built-in excuse to not be actively improving the team. They are the ones that don't want to spend money. They'd rather spend free agency on their yacht.
Future increases in the salary cap don't change the fact that the dead money will restrict Dallas's ability to sign and retain free agents.

I really can't stand this kind of funny money thought process concerning the cap. Yes there are ways to kick cans down the road. But the fact is, the literal fact is, the cap prevents teams from keeping players and signing players every year.

You cannot say contracts like Dak, Jaylon Smith, Zeke don't hurt a team from being able to make itself better. Pushing a ton of money down the line has its uses. I'd argue it makes a lot of sense when your team is in a window to contend, seriously, for a Super Bowl. We're not in that window. Pushing money down the line might help us get a win or 2, but real effect is handcuffing ourselves when we have a solid base to try and win with.

And in my opinion the 90 million Dak years is not that window. If we had Daniels on his rookie deal like Washington? Sure let's kick it all down the road and use the next 3 years to try and win it all

Wishful thinking. They are one of the teams with the most cap space, have a legit GM and a franchise caliber QB entering his 2nd season.
Because teams always get better from one year to the next. QBs always get better the next year. Because Stroud did, right? Because Watson did, right? Because Dak did, right? Remember the year the Eagles had all the cap space and won the offseason only to implode?

In case you missed it, Dallas has a lot of cap space, a QB that almost won the MVP two years ago, one of the best WRs in the game, one of the best pass rushers, etc. The Eagles deserved to win the Super Bowl, the Commanders were not much, if any better than the Cowboys. They did a lot with smoke and mirrors. No guarantee it happens in year two. If the Skins had the injuries Dallas did, they wouldn’t have sniffed the playoffs.

Do tell us all here and now. Just what what age Presscott will be when he leaves the Cowboys. You can't. You can just talk potential down, not really directing the route.

SF couldn't either.

And they want financing for a new stadium. They will go all out to improve their roster and finish in front of Philly.

No...just need things to break your way during the year.

Washington was awful and hit at QB and spent in FA...1 season turn around.
I predicted Washington and Quinn would be embarrassed in 2024 and the Boys would make them cry. Lots of crow to eat.

NFL's highest paid players by team in 2024 (average salary per year):

His cap hit for 2025.

One of those players won't return any results commensurate to the money spent

Barring injuries I think they will get better. Dont see any signs they will implode.

As for Dallas, we have won two wildcard games with Dak in nine seasons. In the 4 years with Dak, CD and Micah they have won one wildcard game. Now Dak is aging and will be 32 this year and we have multiple holes in both sides of the ball.
These two teams look to be headed in opposite directions.

I think our lack of all in the past years has handicapped us to the point where the eagles and commanders are too stacked at all levels where we just have to use the next 3 years to become like them
Yes but the name of the mountain is Dak

The Eagles have been a very strong organization for quite some time and they are the ones we need to be concerned about.

This might just be me but I need more convincing that the Commanders are suddenly a force to be reckoned with. It seems like they just kind of managed to catch lightning in a bottle last year and won some games they had no business winning (like the Bears game Hail Mary). Remember people thought the Giants were suddenly good after making the playoffs under Brian Daboll in 2021 and the past two seasons they've gone right back down the toilet.
Please stop it
No one who understood football thought Danny Dimes was any good. Everyone knows Jayden is the real deal
Yes, the Commanders will be really good this year

We just won the division the year before last. Last season we beat Wash with a backup QB. It’s not that bad.
Washington went though a big change after that.

And philly should have won it easily if they hadnt their internal quarrels. In fact they should have won or be at least in the SB that year too. Dont let an internal disaary fool you into thinking the team is not good coached, good managed or has not good players.

It is that bad. And i dont think it will get any better.

I don't believe that! I think the biggest difference is the Commanders and Eagles have excellent QB play while Dallas is stuck with decent QB play that turns poor when the playoffs start.

Dallas is married to a declining mediocre QB, and has far too much cap space allocated to him. This team is crippled for years to come. It's not "climbing any mountains".
Exactly! I just don't have understand how so many can be so stubborn in denial. Jalen Daniels has catapulted the Commanders into a true SB contender. NOT QUINN!
