Is The NFC East Race Over?

I'm still not as confident in that game as others. I'll agree that Freeman is having a tough year but he's still talented. And Blount is talented. They have been killed by injuries on defense. We should win that game. But I expect a fight in that game. This game against Arizona won't be easy either. They have arguably the best receiver in the game against our weak secondary.

Our secondary isn't weak at all...

Yeah I have no idea why people are saying this. People were praising our secondary a few weeks ago then a rough outing against the Skins and all of a sudden they suck.

I've been consistent on our secondary, It's not really been that good. Now it does look better when we get to the QB a lot and make the other team throw bad passes. But we just don't have the guys that can really cover if the other team consistently has time to throw it.

If we win sunday and the Giants lose we're 2 up going into that game, but if the Giants win us they're right back in it

I am more interested in seeing whether we can beat the Eagles and Giants than in the details of whether the race is over. If we can't beat those guys we are not going to make any noise in the playoffs.

The Giants have been second half chokers in recent years.

I do not expect them to beat the Packers.

Giants will be done - if We beat the Cardinals and we beat them the week after.

Other than that do not count on anything. I do want Miles Austin back and running injury free soon.

They just got obliterated on Monday Night Football by the Saints. They host the undefeated Green Bay Packers and then they have to travel to Dallas to play the red hot Cowboys. Doesn't look good at all. I'd be shocked if they win either of the next two games. Meanwhile the Cowboys travel to Arizona to face the 2 win Cardinals then host the Giants. Two very winnable games. Then they have Tampa Bay, Philly, and New York one more time. Wouldn't be shocked if we won out. At this point it's looking like the regular season finale between the Cowboys and the Giants will be meaningless similar to the Eagles/Cowboys finale last year. The Cowboys will probably have the division wrapped up.
San Fran, has a soft schedule, but if we were to win out we could end up the Number 2 seed. We do hold the tie breaker against SF, thanks to Romo's broken ribs heroics.

I think they'll put up a good showing against Green Bay at home next week. They always seem to play well when their backs are against the wall. Green Bay seems ripe for a loss. They've looked a little listless and disinterested the last few weeks, and the Giants passing game can exploit their weak secondary.

our season is the next 2 weeks

we beat the cardinals and the giants

game over

that is the attitude we need to have

This is right where the Giants always excel - when their backs are against the wall and everyone is counting them out. I'm not eliminating them until the Cowboys beat them in that final game of the season, just like in 2009 when you couldn't eliminate the Eagles until that final whistle in the playoff game.

The Giants have a losing record under Coughlin the 2nd half of seasons. So this is actually right where the Giants usually fail.

Is it over? Of course not. But it's ours to lose at this point.

I'll say it's over when there's a little "z" next to our name in the papers.

No, not over. Giants always play well in Dallas (Eli in particular) and will most likley be a must win for them (if we beat Cards and Pack beats Giants).

Plus I am not dimissing the Eagles unless they get 8 losses.

Bottom line IMO, Cowboys need to win next 3 in a row. If that is case, they would clinch divison with Tampa Bay win.

How can a division race possibly be over when Dallas leads by only 1 game?

Dont drink the kool aid, We dont know what team will show up. Lets take one game at a time.

You got that right. Cowboys can't afford to think down the road. Deal with today and continue to work on improving the focus has to be on that

Hell no... Trust me that Giants team won't be the same one Dallas sees in two weeks. They'll be a fully aware of what's at stake.

According to the ESPN playoff machine if we beat the Cardinals and giants lose to the Packers and then we beat the Giants in week 14 the division race is over. Even if we lose out and the giants win out at that point they cant catch us apparently.

Good to know. I'm going to feel dirty cheering for the Packers this weekened.

Seems strange that a team could very plausibly wrap up their division as early as Week 14 but yet still be so far out of the race for a bye week.

I think the Eagles can still catch us at 9-7 if they run the table. The would win the NFC East in that scenario I believe.
