Is there a favorite in the NFC after today

Their defense is legit. So even if Wentz has some struggles, their defense is going to keep them in games. Their front seven is big and fast.

The bigger question for Philly is not Wentz at this point but rather how is the reshuffled line going to do once Lane Johnson has to start his suspension? They have to do some shifting on what's already a fairly think OL.

Beagles front 7 maybe legit, they still have issues in the secondary.

After only 3 weeks I hate to say it but it is Philly who is 1st in points score with 30 per game and 1st in points allowed at 9 points and 2nd in the NFL is turnover ratio with +6

I think as the season moves on the front runner today will not be the front runner after week 8 but if you asked who is playing the best ball then in my view it would be Philly

I see it as Carolina and Seattle until proven otherwise longer term.
Then Green Bay, Minnesota.
I would put Arizona in there, but Palmer needs to start playing better for that to happen.
Philly seems very well-rounded so far. But it's too soon for me to put them in there. Plus, as good as Wentz has played, rookie QBs usually get exploited once the smart DCs figure them out more.

That's the best point I've heard made. That line is playing pretty good, but it's going to be reshuffled in 2 different areas guard, and tackle for the next 10 games. How will that offense function? How will Wentz deal with more pressure and less running game? It's definitely a blow..

Trying to project who's going to win the division, or NFL championship after 3 games is crazy at this point. I would say the beagles have been the best team I've seen this year to this point. Minnesota is also looking good.

Green Bay and Seattle are no longer dominant. Neither is Arizona, or Carolina. I believe they'll take a step back.

Injuries will also have a big impact on who is the last team standing after the playoffs.

they do. I don't think they are as good as the minnesota and seattle teams right now though.

MIN and DEN are the two best in the league defensively. And MIN is scary-good. We'll get to see first-hand and test out our OL for real.

That Eagles win v. PIT caught me completely by surprise yesterday. Prior, they'd beaten some bad teams with what amounted to mostly safe throws. Now, they disassembled and AFC contender. Time to take a closer look to see how good they really are.

Overall, at least, the NFCE doesn't look to be as bad a division as it did at the end of last year. Things are getting interesting.

This Cowboys team is NOT one of the best in the NFL by any stretch of the imagination right now. But it consistently surprises by keeping any game close, despite the competition:

Look back at losses last year with Cassel and Weeden at QB. A ton of extremely close games, a lot of extremely tough losses: Seattle, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, etc. We weren't getting run off the field in most contests other than NE and Carolina. And NE we outplayed for a half, and Carolina- Romo should never have played at all really.

Im not saying we can beat those teams if we play them again, however this Cowboys team has more room to improve than most teams because it is so youthful. I think by late October this team might be able to play with the big boys- we have to fix this Defense somehow. It's too susceptible to quick drives from down confidence following a big play or penalty.

It's a 3 and out, 3 and out, 4 plays 80 yards TD defense. It's really quite headscratching as to why this happens, but it does over and over.

That's not accurate. They did score a TD and Wilson was hurt in the first game.

Yes, there offense started slowly this year. But the pieces are there and appeared to come together this week. Besides, every team in the NFC has questions.
My point is... If every team in the NFC has questions why is our season doomed like so many around here seem to believe?

With our defense?

We're actually in the top ten in yards allowed and points allowed through 3 games, as hard as it is to believe.

But like many fans I suspect our lack of pass rush will be our undoing. If that could improve we're perhaps talking about a different story, but it's easier said than done.

With Lawrence returning after the upcoming game vs 49ers this coming weekend I would expect more pressure than what we are seeing now.

For the past couple of weeks I kept hearing about how we were doomed because of how good Carolina and Arizona were. Is that still true? Because they both looked pretty dang bad today. One could say the Vikings and Eagles are the new defacto favorites, but I am not yet ready to annoint the Eagles (maybe after Wentz battles through some adversity) and I have a hard time believing in this Petersonless Vikings offense long term. I suppose what I am getting at... Is that especially in the NFC there is so much parity that it seems silly to not even entertain the possibility that this might finally be our year.
Only becuz the other Favorites have better defenses than us.

Those teams have defenses that can survive offensive hicccups.

Don't think we do.

Perhaps we will improve when some of our guys return on defense..

But we need luck that no new injuries pop up.

That's a big if.
