riggo said:i think the key will be the skins ability to run the ball, not so much brunells performance. the skins controlled the clock for just over 36 minutes in the first game. both brunell and portis are dinged (thats partly the reason for brunells mediocre showing the past 2 weeks).
if the skins can run the ball effectively and keep seattles O off the field, which is gibbs philosophy, that will negate a pass rush and take pressure off brunell.
double brought up a great point in the post above mine. the skins had an early 14 point lead and sat on it. even with a measly 120 yards of offense, gibbs did what he wanted to do- he milked the clock for almost 26 minutes, believe it or not, and let TB make the offensive mistakes. he was coaching to win the game, not put up 400 yards of offense.
You cannot milk the clock against the Seahawks. It's been tried. We played the Seahawks, and our defense was playing at a similar level to where yours is right now. they are just TOO good offensively, for that to be accomplished. Did you realize that they are one of the best run stopping teams in the league? And it's not like teams don't run against them. The only team that had more carries against them, and allowed less ypc, was TB.
