Still got some holes in the secondary, line, nose and we could use another pass rusher whether Ellis is cut or not. But White fills a few holes. Young back up QB, Slot WR, PR. And if Garrett wants to get cute, White and Felix in the wildcat.

Personally, Id rather load up on DB's and OL but this has to intrigue Jerry to no end.

Id be ok with him in the 3rd, but his stock is rising and hed be our first pick unless someone surprising falls.

If they take a qb it will be 5th or later.

I thought the eference was to our love for QB to WR conversions. If we take Pat White, you won't see him on the field for 3 years.

I will be floored if we dont go safety at 51.

Clearly our biggest need on the team.

Clearly our biggest need on the team.

It will be CB or Safety. NT with our first 3rd rounder. We'll get great value on both selections to for each both positions. I'm more a realist than an optimist by the way.

Jerry said we are looking for football players and Pat is a flat out player. Probably a mistake @51, but after that you bet!

Pat White is gonna play QB....

Another case of teams putting too much into workout's.

The guy goes from "having to change positions" by scouts based on the purest form of recruiting (watching the player on film) to a possible late first, high second round draft pick at QB after throwing in shorts.

I don't get it.

NFL.com draft analyst Gil Brandt said he spent three days with White, instantly became impressed with him as a person and knows NFL teams are intrigued."Somebody's going to draft him; just where they're going to draft him, that's the question," Brandt said. "I don't think anybody feels he can't play quarterback."http://www.dailymail.com/Sports/WVUSports/200902230454

I'd love to see Dallas draft Pat White, rocket arm and great mobility. He's more accurate than given credit for by the way.

Enough of this "wildcat" stuff....defensive people will have spent all offseason tearing it apart on film, and the teams that try to run it next yr are going to get it squashed. Even by the end of last yr it was having little to no success. It was a surprise, a gimmick that caught people offguard (mainly NE that one game).

It's called "pipedream"

Kinda like the comment in this thread about him having a "rocket arm" He clearly doesnt, nor will ever have a rocket arm. Matt Stafford is the only QB in this draft who has a bigtime arm. White doesnt throw the ball anywhere near as hard as him.

If we'd gone with bollinger as #2, drafting a QB would have been a certainty.

Now, however, with Kitna as the backup, we may go back to carrying only 2 QB's on the roster and having a young QB on the practice squad, which doesn't make you want to draft one and then lose him.

We're rock solid at QB's 1 and 2 now for a few years. We're not rushed to get a young QB. If the draft falls in a way that we see a QB we covet on day 2 and no other players, we'll go QB, but if we're looking at a young QB versus a guy we think can make the 53 and contribute as a backup or on special teams, I think we'll either go with Bollinger as #3 or we'll pick up a young QB in free agency to stash on the practice squad.

I think you may be right Wayne. I also think this is a lousy yr for QB's anyway. I really didnt see much in any of those guys after Stafford/Sanchez that makes me think "wow, he could be something"

Actually his stock rose because he was the best QB at senior bowl...but whatever floats your boat.
