Is there any way Zimmer is back next year?

IMHO, no way. And for all those out there that say Parcells shouldn't come back that this Defense is not on Zimmer, I don't believe Zimmer has done enough pre-Parcells to warrant him staying around.

My fix:

Jones is the Owner/GM and it's time for him to be a good one by doing the following:

At the end of the season go to Parcells and lay it out. You're welcome back next season, with two stips 1. We're bringing in an aggresive 3-4 D-Coordinator and he's not a puppet it's his show on D. 2. We're bringing in an aggresive O-Coordinator same as above.

thats not gonna happen. who bill wants is who bill will get. just like all other head coaches, he gets his staff.
i don't know if zimmer will be back or not but it will depend on bill, not jerry. besides that jerry loves zimmer

I reported earlier this season that there is no way he comes back. From a source close to the team.

Agreed, I think he is gone.

As for an "aggressive O-Coordinator" the biggest problem I had in both the Saints and the Eagles games is that we went away from the run too soon. I think the offensive coaches have gotten a lot out of a mediocre line, a mediocre starting RB, two aging WRs and a first year QB.

I think Jerry should let his HC choose who his assistants are. We went through this before of getting a HC but dictating who the assistant coaches would be. That does not work. You hire a HC hold him accountable but in the end the HC must be able to say who is on his staff.

Yep, Jerry as much as threw him under the bus in his interview with Norm yesterday.

He's history.

I want a young aggressive head coach ......... tired of having a team with no fire.

It's Parcells' defense.

So I have to think, if Parcells is back, so will Zimmer.

I don't think so. Jerry sounded like he wanted blood after the game. However I don't know if he's ready to make that big a move to push Bill out the door.

Zimm may get to fall on the proverbial sword.

True.

I just think Zimmy has earned the title of Parcells' guy (in Parcells' mind anyway), and I wouldnt be surprised if he is back next year.

Personally, I think if people want to see a more aggressive and innovative scheme, another Pink Elephant in the room has to go too.

Remember, after the Saints game he said he had never seen the Cowboys get outschemed that much, the entire time he had been in Dallas.

As long as it is the HC call then fine, if Bill chooses to hire another DC fine. I love having Jerry as the owner of this team but I don't want to see him picking assistant coaches. Who is that assistant coach loyal to the HC or Jerry? You start doing that and no decent HC would ever come here .

I agree about the HC and assistants in general, so maybe this is also somewhat of a chopping block for Purcells too. I just think he has his hands in too much. Bring in a coordinator you can trust and let him at it.

Yep.

I would not be surprised if it did come down to Jerry deciding Zimmer had to go, that that could develop into the major tug of war the media has been waiting for between The Coach and The GM.

I think Bill is extremely loyal to his guys and I would not be surprised if Zimmer is still coaching us next year.

To me, it is already being setup, with Parcells making statements like, our youth and inexperience is showing.

Sound to me, blame was deflected from the Coordinator and onto the heads of the youth.

Now if they get utterly destroyed in the Playoffs, that is a different story.

I'm not talking going to the pass vs run. I'm talking attacking unless you've got them to the point that you're putting in the scrubs. And that goes for the Defense especially. Seems to me in a few losses or close ones this year we've gone from an attacking Defense and winning to a prevent and allowing teams to come back on us.

As I said if Parcells wants to bring in a different coordinator then great but Jones does not need to be picking guy to be the assistant to the HC. In the end Bill is still responsible for Offense, Defense and Special Teams just like any other HC on any level of play. If Jones is not happy with Bill then fire him and hire another coach but the people around that HC have to be loyal to that HC not out doing their own thing and running to Jerry behind the coaches back.

I get what you're saying. I'm talking about being able to give a coordinator more responsibility, which I don't think Parcells is capable of doing. I'm not talking about being a rogue coordinator. There a lot of teams that the head coach has relinquished play calling duties on one side of the ball or the other for the betterment of the team. ie: the Eagles who've started thrashing people since Morningwig (sp) took over the offensive play calling for whatever reason. I still contend Parcells has his hands in too much instead of just enough.
