Is there anyone on this defense that wows you anymore?

Sean Lee for me is the only remotely consistent player with his own faults nevertheless. Everyone else is overpaid, just okay or have one foot out the door with injuries and age. Where do you start with the draft? I think D Line. If you're going to run a 4 man front, you've to get pressure. You can only expect a secondary to smother receivers with accurate QB's in a pass heavy league for so long. Pressure, pressure, pressure.

i think the main issue is we look for singular success when we should be looking for team success. as a fan we tend to say "x" player is the root of all evil.

that is an extreme.

the point is perhaps we brought too many "chiefs" in to fix this.

I think a few are playing well (Hatcher, Church) but the overall D is terrible.

I'm not sure it will get better, hope it does.

I think I'll let the D start from scratch with the Washington game. I'm not sure any D in the NFL could have looked good against Denver this week.

That's valid but, we haven't looked good against anyone but the Rams. That's certainly something to be concerned about. Heck, we haven't looked good defensively in a LONG time.

Barry Church.

Church is pretty solid. I'm not "Wow" but, certainly happy to have them out there. Hatchers okay. This D as a unit is awful. I don't know where the problem starts but, ugh. I don't even know. Just look old, tired, injured and overrated. With the exception of a few guys.

I hear you, I'm not pointing out one by any means. I think the whole batch stinks aside from a small few.

True. Like most Cowboys fans, I'm very concerned, but the D looked so bad against Peyton Manning and the Broncos it is just impossible for me to see past the collective failure and make any kind of objective observation. I watched the game again, and they just looked inept. Peyton does that to teams. The only question I really have is how many yards the Broncos made after being tackled. It was a bunch.

I don't know why we don't press receivers more. I think it would help but, then again, I am just a back seat driver here.

I don't get it either. Especially yesterday. When Peyton just drops back for 2 seconds and launches it would seem like pressing the corners would be the #1 option. I think we did it some but it should've been done more.

Especially when your corners are better at man coverage. It also allows more time for the front 4 to get pressure and the LB's to get into coverage.

Three weeks ago a lot of folks here saying this defense and its coaches were turning Dallas into a defensive juggernaut...

I certainly wasn't on that boat. To be honest, I scoffed at the hiring of Kiffin. I was certainly hoping they proved us wong.
