Is This an All In Year for the Cowboys?

Got through the first six games, mostly with a backup QB, and we are sitting at 4-2. Two very winnable games coming up and then the bye. Philly is undefeated and has beaten us but besides that, the conference is wide open.

We have the defense that has the potential Defensive Player of the Year and one that no team wants to face. Without question a championship defense. Led by Dan Quinn, who most likely will be the head coach of another NFL team next year and a genius in judging talent and making use of it.

The Niners are trading for CMC to help put them over the top. Last year the Rams added Von Miller and OBJ to help them to a championship. Teams that are one player away try to add that player in a year that they are close.

Are we that close? Should we add a receiver or DT or offensive lineman before the trade deadline to soldify our chances to winning it all this year? Or are we not that close, not one player away and go to war with what we have and hope next year is the year?

I know the Dakstabbers are gonna say that we can't win without a QB but he is the best chance we got. Cooper Rush is not going to win us a Super Bowl. Vintage Dak can.

So what are your thoughts? All in with a trade to put us over or stand pat?

Dak isnt good enough to carry you to a Super Bowl but with the right team I think he can bus drive to one. You almost have to think about is as an all in situation and get as many pieces in place to help mask Dak's deficiencies. Unfortunately, the Jones's do not have the balls to go all in.

No, and I hope they never have one.

Build and continue to build a competitive team. Give then a shot every year and they will win one every once in a whole.

Go "all in" and they might.....MIGHT.....win one only to suck for the next ten years.

I think they put all their chips in when they gave that big contract to Dak. It meant they were gonna go all out on getting more talent. Why have a big salary for your QB when you ain't going nowhere? Better to build up your team first. So it's Glendale or bust this year. Of course as usual, after they bust...it's Las Vegas or bust in 2024. and so forth, you get the picture.

Why is it you people want the Cowboys to mortgage the future every year for some perceived "going for it" mantra?

You trade for any big star right now and your paying a big time price. Best way to win a championship is to be a contender for 4 or 5 years. You dont do that by mortgaging your future every year for a 1 year run.

This team could lose any number of players at key positions and watch the year go up in smoke. Much like last year. One year "go for it" runs are for desperate teams trying to hold on for one last run with an older roster.

True words were never spoken.

Dude, we have not won a Super Bowl in 27 years. Jerry ain't getting any younger, nor are we.

..sooner or later, we're getting another Championship.

why not this year?

We have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL pal.

The reason we havent is because Jones thinks he has a contender every year and proceeds accordingly. I guess you dont learn from his mistakes? Its only been the last few years since MM that he has gotten smart and not mortgaged the future for some dumb one year run.

Now I would be all for going out and getting a legit RG to replace Mcgovern, but in no way am I giving up a 2nd or 1st for anyone.

No way you can say Jerry was going all in, when he let your #1 WR go. Especially when every DC hated trying to line up against Coop/CD/Gallup. Then they let go a starting caliber T when they knew the one on the other side is injury prone.

No they paid Dak and Zeke, and then offset costs with getting rid of guys they didn't think were playing up to their paychecks. Then tried to draft to make up for their cuts. Shrewd business moves, but not about winning it all.

Dallas is trying to keep a good team and not have down years. Good business moves, but not the all in, then drop to the bottom, then jump back to the top type plays.

Jerry doesn't believe in all in. Making a playoff appearance and a quick out is what we have to look forward to. I'm not falling for all this hype anymore.

I hear you, but I don't think Dallas "has" sucked every season since 1995.
We'd all like an SB win though
Disagree. We want to at least go deep in the playoffs. That has not happened in the last 27 years. This is on Jerru. He hired the coaches and drafted the players. Going one and done a few times over the last 27 years is not where the Cowboys should ever be.

Fake news...one game at a time, one step at a time, one goal at a time to overcome the obstacles ahead.

So sorry you have to express yourself like that. Dakstabbers. Vintage...nice.
