Is this Cowboy Team mentally soft?

We have seen this team perform at their talent level when playing ahead on the scoreboard, but really shutdown when they get so called punched in the face. We have heard the players state they weren't physical enough after losses.

There is no reason that this team should be down 23-7 in a home playoff game that they are favored in nor get totally blown out by an average Bronco team at home. There is no reason why this team continues to hurt themselves with committing so many pre and post snaps penalties. This has happened with different coaching regimes.

The common denominator is Jerry Jones. Head Coaches here have little power at all over their teams. Players know Jerry is the boss and they only need to answer to him. Jerry doesn't treat the players like workers, but rather family members and it is hard for him to separate business from personal relationships.

Our only hope is that he finally allows a coach to become the central individual who holds the power over the players. I don't think MM is that guy, perhaps Sean Payton will be given the power. What I do know is, this cycle is going to continue to happen, no matter the talent on this roster.

I think its more that they are arent good, and arent smart than soft. If they were "soft", they lose that game by 25-30 points. A soft team wouldn't have gotten back in the game

Id prefer to look at the coaches for not getting the players ready. Of course you’ll who hired the coach but that’s just become a lazy mantra. I’m not laying lazy at your feet just saying

Definitely.

It's difficult to motivate a group of guys that are so well paid.....and impossible when they all know you're not the guy in charge.

Jerry's insistence on being the man and everyone knowing it is a huge problem but he either doesn't see it or doesn't care.

I'm hoping maybe things will be different with Payton....not because he is so great, but because Jerry actually respects him.

That's my mindset too, don't think Payton is a huge upgrade, but Jerry doesn't trust him, perhaps will give him more power.

It's really the only hope I can see.

Think back to the four divisional games this year and the two title games and how they were played.

Does anyone really think we are tough enough to get through two or three of those?

Contrary to what Jerry may think, we didn't just miss.

Things are so close in the cap ERA, coaching has to be the difference and we are always at a loss there so Jerry is comfortable.

It's a problem that I don't think he is willing to acknowledge or admit.

Jerry neither respects nor trusts anyone else on thei planet more than himself. He could hire Bill Bellichick, Nick Saban or even resurrect the greatTom Landry or Vince Lombardi….but until he stops undermining his HC with all his endless yacking, public statements and self adulation, it won’t matter who’s coaching here.

Everyone picks against the Cowboys when they play a physical team what does that tell you? All we heard entering the 49ers game was how physical they were. After the Cowboys got punched in the mouth McCarthy said after the game we were nervous. Lol
