Is this D for real or not?

For any non-homer, it should be hard to really gauge how good this defense is. In 3 of our 4 games, we gave up a grand total of 13 points and forced 10 turnovers.

But then there was the stink of last week against Josh Dobbs and a bunch of Jags.

So what do you guys make of this defense?

We will find out next week. It will be the biggest challenge of the season to date. The SF offense is no joke. But so far they look like super bowl material.

Last week there were some assignment problems.

Having said that, this defense does play better with a lead, but that holds true across the NFL. I think this defense is for real because nobody is as opportunistic.

They can’t stop the run. It never tears its ugly head until a team can pass and run.

Honestly, the jury is still out. We looked dominant, but the qbs we've played so far are horrible

I think they’re for real. I don’t think they’re dominant. Not with the loss of DIGGS and issue stopping runnin QB’s.

Of course, turnovers are the ultimate equalizer. If they can continue to lead the league in turnovers. That just about trumps everything else.

I think they struggle vs QBs that can run. When that dimension is removed it just comes down to assignments. I thought LVE was better this game, for example.

Parsons game is off a touch.

When he's on there's no unit better- especially if Diggs is on the field.

We already knew they were front runners as every time we get an early lead, they have gotten stops and even added to the lead. The one game when they gave up a first possession TD, they never got going and gave up 222 rushing yards and 28 points on all long drives, only forced 2 late game punts.

SF will be the best team we’ve faced all season. We need our OL finally complete and the defense to stop the run, get off the field better, and maybe hold SF to 20 points. If they do that, we have a chance to win.

The misdirection plays are killing them. I hope they know Purdy loves to roll out and throw across the field.
