On the roster at DC.com it shows 56 as a 251 lb who is on the IR named Troy Davis. I don't think so.

Isn't Brent's number 92 or 90 something? The guy in the pic weighs more than 251 but I don't think that's Brent.

Isn't that Brown's old number? I would actually like to see that. Dedicate himself to honoring his late friend - still a sad scene but a step in the right direction.

LOL, Looks like he is straining to reach over the counter to get something hidden in the upper cupboard - I'll take it though, we need all of the fresh bodies possible on the DL, those guys got gassed last week. Hope he stayed in football shape.

I think there are better ways for Brent to honor Brown. It's a nice thought but I think the constant reminder and the likely media debate that it would spark isn't a good idea for the Brown family to have to hear.

Agreed, but just the mere fact that he is playing will remind them of their lost loved one. I think I read somewhere that Josh was forgiven by the Brown Family. If so it wouldn't be too bad.

Thanks EST. Brent looks a little out of shape but we can use all the help we can get on D so bring him on.

He might change numbers when/if they activate him. Practice Squad players often change number when they get added to the 53 man roster so his situation is similar in that he's practicing but he's not on the 53 man roster.

The LB Troy Davis is now on IR.

I somewhat disagree. Tact is not always a media strong-suit, especially regarding sensitive matters. In this age of sensationalism, it is likely the media will work the tragedy angle regardless of how much Brent or the franchise does not publicly acknowledge it.

Wearing Brown's jersey draws attention squarely on Brent. However, wearing the jersey also demonstrates Brent, who caused the tragedy, has the courage to publicly acknowledge what he has done. As they often do in similar circumstances, the media may jump at the opportunity to scrutinize Brent's action. In my opinion, the family would rather hear and read "news" reports reflecting how Brent honors their deceased family member (no matter how maligned the stories might be unnecessarily presented) than simply hearing and reading commentary reflecting how Brent snatched away Brown's NFL career and life.

I'm curious as to how you can come to the conclusion that he looks out of shape from a still picture where he's wearing an untucked jersey and baggy sweat pants.
