Julius, our 3rd THIS year and our first next year for the packers 1st round pick at 16. We then draft Marshawn Lynch at 16, best available cb or Safety at 22, and an O lineman in the 2nd. How does this trade stack up when it comes to value points for draft picks? To me the trade makes sence for both teams. Would give G.B 2 number ones for next year and the shot to move up in the draft to replace Favre.

Why would we want to trade one of our best players?

Never give up a first round pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually you're not giving up a 1st round pick with what he proposed. You're basically giving up a third and JJ, for a 1st. Then you're swapping next years 1st rounder for a 1st this year. That gives us 2 this year and none next year.
A 1st is a 1st, no matter when you have them.

So, Julius and a 3rd to get a mid first round pick this year instead of late 1st round pick next year...why?

You're gonna give up a starting RB, a first AND a third, all to move up six slots in the draft?? And then, you're gonna draft another RB??

Are you by any chance related to Matt Millen?? Of all the NFL GMs out there, he'd be the only one stupid enough to make such a trade...

this reminds me of the year Jerry traded down then traded back up to get Quincy and some SS to sit behind Woody!

I prefer Julius + #22 for Buffalos #12 in hopes that Landry will be there.

Well, in all fairness, you wouldn't be just moving up six spots. You'd be gaining a mid-first pick.

.........................................Actually the trade scenario gives us the opportunity to draft a REAL starting R.B AND a safety in the 1st round THIS YEAR. Hey, arent you the guy who used to argue with me day in day out that Quincy Carter would be the starting QB for years to come??? YEP, ...you sure were, oh yeah, you were just as WRONG back then too!....:D JJ will be traded on or before draft day. Not a doubt in my mind.

WHY does nobody seem to understand that we would be trading away a 1st but also GETTING A 1ST ROUND PICK BACK?????

We would be trading JJ and a third and our first round pick NEXT YEAR for greenbays 1st rounder THIS YEAR. We then would have TWO first round picks this year and no 1st rounder next year. Also, the 1st rounder we recieve from greenbay this year is more valuable because its 16, next year we should be drafting in the 26 to 32 range.

That's exactly why Greenbay wouldn't do it. When you trade a first round pick for another pick the next year you're usually betting on the other team having a terrible year. If Greenbay thinks for a second the Cowboys are going to have a great year next year why trade the number 16 pick. Plus the pick they got from the Cowboys this year isn't untilt he third round meaning they basically traded down two rounds and got JJ for it this first year of the deal

Then lets look at the Cowboys side of the deal. What you're preposing is that the Cowboys trade a first, a third, and JJ for the number 16 pick. So the Cowboys can take another RB. Let me tell you something my friend Lynch isn't going to be a "sure thing" so why trade your thousand yard rusher for a guy who may or may not be any better than the RB you already have?

mention anthony henry, and see what happens. it's like putting a quarter in a machine that turns things into obsessive-compulsive-posters.
