Is this owner really about to reward a QB for failure after his playoff performance?

Wait - I thought it was a lock he would sign before the season started. Didn’t happen and now he’s one injury away from Jerry walking away from him for good.

Done if you guys better be holding your breath.

If he gets an extension then why even root for this team if its confirmed that Dak will never ever be under any pressure to perform when it matters the most. How the hell do you extend a QB who played part in one of the worst losses in Team history? So if he gets rewarded and extended after that game, he can play below average without any pressure for next 4 years. And we as fans is supposed to sit here and root for this guy who cant elevate his level of play at all after December? He will be paid and not have to worry about anything because he cant be cut so he can just smile after interceptions.
Yes but unfortunately that is how it is

Yup.... I agree with a lot of the posts here.

Here's what one anonymous exec had to say about Dak: and he's right.

What a unique and interesting take. I've never heard anyone put it this way, like a dozen times.

I'm ready to see him signed just to watch everyone who blames losses solely on the qb. It should be good old fashioned, wholesome entertainment.

True but Dak takes up the salary of 5 to 6 defensive players

Salary cap burden matters
How can the Chiefs mk it to five straight AFC championship games when they pay Mahomes all that money?

We would have made the playoffs with Cooper Rush at 4-1 and that same roster, only to lose in the playoffs..
You don’t believe that. No one else does either. The Cooper Rush nonsense is even more stupid than the Lance nonsense. If the Dallas Cowboys had a quarterback even one tenth as good as Prescott he would have been released by now. He’s still here and Jerry wants to pay him a fortune to remain with the team.

He rewarded Lamb too. Is about to reward Parsons. Both of whom were failures in last two playoff losses.

Because if you don't sign him - than other than this year - this team won't sniff the playoffs for the foreseeable future after he leaves.

If that's what you want, then I hope you enjoy it.
I’m convinced that this franchise is so handicapped that the only way they overcome it is with a franchise, blue chip, HOF type QB. 99% of the time you’re going to need a high draft pick to get that. If a few years of losing and amassing some top 5 picks is what it takes then sign me up. 12 wins, 1st or 2nd round exits, and drafting in the late 20s clearly isn’t working.

Notice how Dak started “playing well” when the Packers inserted the second string defense and went prevent.

It’s almost like it had nothing to do with “not playing well”, just that Dak sucks when it comes down to playing when it really matters…
They did not stick 2nd stringers. That's dumb to say. But I get you are a newbie NFL fan.

They played prevent defense keeping everything I. Front and not giv8ng up big plays

So did Dak play well against the GB defense in 2016 that was allowing 400 yards a game going into the playoffs and had backup DBs or was it the GB defense allowing Dak to walk over them?

It’s almost like the defense excuse is ignored by Dak fanboys when Dak is padding stats against those same bum defenses…
You are arguing against a rookie QBs play in playoffs....really?????

It’s a silly take. He rewarded a wr for the same result. He rewards players all the time without winning anything from that point of view. Should we rebuild the team every year when the team fails to win a trophy? Or just get rid of the guys you don’t like.

I love your hatred for Prescott. Keep it coming.

Every playoffs, I find myself saying, "well there is another quarterback who has surpassed Dak." Same quarterback, who is now old and passed the point of learning to improve his game, with a weaker supporting case, and it logical to think he is going to do better than he has in the past?
