Is this proof the running back position is ascending?

Is the midget that much better than Gordon? Enough to pick him top 10 instead of the 2nd round for Gordon? Just going by the highlights, I like Gordon more.
Fair question and I think its too early to really say. From what i see Jeanty is my favorite RB of the class, but RB also seems to be deeper than it was last season too, and there could be some really good value in rounds 2 and 3. There might realistically be 10 RBs that are legitimate starting NFL prospects this year. I think it really is a wait and see where these guys are getting mocked to after the combine as stocks rise and fall.

Questions that need to be asked though relative to this particular player.
1) What level of defenses has he played? Does he go from elite to just another good RB in the SEC?
2) What can he do outside running the ball? (pass pro, receiving)
3) Is this record setting season a detriment to his NFL career?
These are all questions being asked by others also.........especially the level of competition. To me, the other side of that coin is he did exactly what you would expect from an elite back........dominated lesser competition.

I do think teams are still valuing good RB’s.

That being said this deal for Conner is 9.5 mil per year. Which isn’t a whole lot of money cap % wise given how much the cap is growing over the next couple of seasons.

Good play, and I would not be upset if the Cowboys draft him in the first round, but this draft will have a bunch of good RBs. The Cowboys should be able to find a good one in round 3. There will also be some DTs in this draft and I would focus on that DL, especially if they do not re-sign Osa and Golston.
This draft has 1 Jeanty. That's it.

Not directed at you, but I chuckle a little when I think how the majority waxed on & on about Bijan being the greatest prospect since AP, etc. and I think we'd all agree he hasn't been that level of difference maker.

Maybe Jeanty is & will be .... but I will be skeptical just because we've seen the hype train outrun reality many times.
Ooo, IDK about that. Robinson has been very very good, but ATL doesn't give him the ball all that much. Doesn't help at all that Cousins is their QB.

Isn't this the same message board that said RBs were a dime a dozen and never draft one before the fourth round?
Yup. Silly fan stuff. The super bowl contenders take them often in the first. KC, DET, both took a 1st round RB recently. SF just gave up a king's ransom for one.

It’s a deep RB class. As much as I like Jeanty you can get a good one in 2/3. Doubt he will be there anyways. I’m going OL/DL first

Can you? Rb's are hit and miss after the 2nd. The majority of starting RB's in the NFL came in rounds 1-2.
