Is this proof the running back position is ascending?

Ooo, IDK about that. Robinson has been very very good, but ATL doesn't give him the ball all that much. Doesn't help at all that Cousins is their QB.
He's a good player but he's like 2 years in & isn't mentioned amongst the top RB's. My point being he hasn't shown himself to be the best prospect since AP and thus hasn't justified his draft position. Generational RB's generally explode onto the scene even when they are they only weapon.

On the same team you have Pitts who also was supposed to be so exceptional that he would single handedly change an offense.

Both are good players but no where near the hype level during the draft process. In draft do overs, where would they be drafted?

There might realistically be 10 RBs that are legitimate starting NFL prospects this year.
That's so false. Dummies say that every single year. And yet 1-2 RB's actually make any impact in the NFL. Every now and then, 4-5 years, you get an outlier 6th-7th round pick like Pacheco in KC.

only dummies do not take a good look at this year before posting
THIS year virtually every single draft expert says is the best RB class in a generation

There is no question...... few nuggets from league insiders that we could see more in 2025

Here are his stats...... a few years ago, he would have cost a bag of chips

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/ConnJa00.htm

i dont see that at all:

APY as % Of Cap At Signing is around 6.x % dipping into the 4.x% these days with CMC a rare commodity at 7.4%

https://overthecap.com/contract-history/running-back

But then its ascoial media with people that have no job and no talent are forced to make a buck or two. Let them have their post.

yeah and they say that at least every third year.

but then the average career of an nfl rb is 1.5 years. i have to admit "generational" becomes a different meaning at that position.

Dumb response.

1st off I never said there would be 10 impact NFL players, although there certainly could be....I said there are 10 legit prospects that could be starters. Of course health, where they end up, etc all factor in.

2nd look at where the 'draft gurus' are ranking some of these players for this years draft. Multiple draft sites have 10 RBs in their top 150 this year, PFF has 10 in their top 100.

3rd look at last year. There was no high end 1st rounder and it was believed to be one of the lesser RB drafts in a while. Meanwhile Braelon Allen (4th rounder), Bucky Irving (4th rounder), Tyron Tracey (5th rounder) are all having impactful season on their teams. You still have guys like Brooks who is just now seeing the field due to injury who may also be impactful from a pretty mediocre RB class a year ago. No reason to think a good class cant produce even more.

You literally have 10 guys from the 2023 class who have seen significant time this year. Bijan, Gibbs, Achane, Bigsby, Brown, Johnson, Charbonnet, Spears, McLaughlin, Wilson.

From 2022 you have Kenneth Walker, Allgeier, Brian Robinson, Jerome Ford, Kyren Williams, Breece Hall, etc.

You literally have no idea what you're talking about.

Wow. You typed a 3 paragraph response?! You lost before you began. And do you realize most years 10 RB's arent even drafted. so for you to say this upcoming draft class has 10 potentially starting caliber RB's is purely idiotic.

Yeah I actually know my stuff and can type more than a sentence or two at a time of actual football substance instead of just trying to belittle others about a subject I'm not educated on like you've done in this thread. It's really not that hard to go back through the last few rookie classes and see how many RBs are seeing the field.

2020 - 7
2021 - 7
2022 - 10 (The magic number that you seem to believe is impossible)
2023 - 10 (there is that number again)
2024 - 3 and still with potential for more

But continue to talk about everyone else here are a bunch of dummies and you're smarter than everyone. I enjoy the laugh.

But you said 10 starting RB NFL prospects.....and you just lowered the bar to "seeing the field." Hilarious. Go away.
Yes starting RB NFL PROSPECTS. Prospects doesn't mean they go all pro, prospects means they have potential to become starting caliber players.

You can use google to look up what big words mean

Bro you literally just have to go to PFF.com and they will let you filter results by position and draft year, its not that hard. Most of them I listed in my previous post...
