Is TMAC Capable Of Carrying the Team if CD Goes Down?

We already have a Golden with (ST pro bowl) Turpin, who we just resigned and last years clueless coaching staff didn't know how to utilize him. Let Flournoy, Mingo, Campbell, Tolbert, Brooks and a day 2 or 3 pick fight it out for the remain spots. I wish Flournoy got more opportunities last year too, they finally gave him more of a shot towards the end of the year.

I would like us to take Walter Nolen DT (Graham will be gone) in the 1st on a trade down if possible. If not just take him there and bundle what ever we can to get and extra 3rd or 4th and go BPA in RB, WR and CB on our next 3 picks.
:muttley: sorry Turpin will never be a natural WR. Does he have a role of course but he is not a WR man this sounds like all the things said about Tavon Austin....

Golden?

Either one would be a great pickup for this team like I said I'd leave it up to the coaches figure out what style receiver are they looking for for this offense but I like other people think the best thing to do is have both as your target but if you can get one of them more than likely golden three spots maybe four spots down and you can pick up an extra 3rd round pick moving down 4th at worst like a high 4th round pick you do that because at least you get what you need and one of the top receivers in his draft he's in the top 4 I don't see how he can go wrong but I also can't see them make a mistake if they take AJ, the running back at 12 or stay Pat and take TET at 12

I mean it's going to be hard for them to screw this up, but I'll be waiting for it to have the hand on the head shaking profusely on how they tricked us all,

and take OL, DL, or CB... while we are mostly thinking 1st round RB/WR

We have so many needs if they just trade down and get any one of those five positions and get a top player that has more of a impact positive day one contributor then I'll take any of them...

Yes Golden, I think there were some character/work ethic concerns with Tet, but those may have been blown out of proportion.

I agree I think we should come out good either way. We could go TE with Warren and I'd be happy with that as well.

If he’s rated higher than the WR, then yes
And you're going by a rating system that we know has been flawed for decades

I mean you have any misses have happened in the first round and then have undrafted free agents turn out to be pro bowlers or guys going in the 5th to 7th rounds or better than some of the top of the first round picks
I mean whose ratings are we talking about it's not a good rating system it's flawed the whole entire system is flawed
we know this so just because you're going by what the alleged experts are telling us the ratings on the board are I'm going to say be different you have to go by the Dallas Cowboys Scouts and their big board, not the mock drafts ,not the ratings you see all over the Internet whatever the Cowboys have on their board rated higher then that's who you take.. You realize that Tyler Smith everyone was telling Jerry he was crazy there's no way he could have had him ranked where they picked him he tried to show the paper and everyone called him a liar I mean imagine not taking him because the rating said not to everybody? Definitely do not want a reach you definitely don't want a red flag you don't want a project for sure in the first round you need to get the best player that fits your team but also Is as close to can't miss as possible for whatever position you take,,
BPA is nice but what if it's Sanders try to tell me at 12 sanders is not going to be ranked higher as far as those boards you're talking about goes a quarterback that possibly could be a starter how could you pass them at 12 he's supposed to go on the top 5 at worse before 12 if he's sitting there at 12 by your standards in BPA we should ignore everything else and take the quarterback??, food for Thought something to chew on because it really does come down to your bpa but you have to look at the positions you have the biggest needs for you take the highest rated guy on your board that somehow crisscrosses need versus bpa.

It's a very fine line that's why mistakes are made Every year...

That is the question. I do not want an Alvin Harper, who was a good #2 but could not lead the team when Irvin was out or double teamed. I want a superstar who can take over the game, a # 88 type, a Drew Pearson, a Michael Irvin, a CD. I believe TMAC can be a dominant WR in the NFL for 10 years. He will be open a lot, so Dak does not look so dumb throwing into tight coverage to the receivers who are not open. TMAC and CD together will make Dak look so much better.

If TMAC is gone by #12, then trade down a few spots. Golden is super fast, but so was Alexander Wright the 1st pick of the 2nd round in 1990, who was a bust as a WR. He reportedly ran a 4.19 40. Golden has the lowest yardage per game of top receivers drafted around the 12th selection. Keep in mind Ohio State's EBUKA in a trade down, perhaps twice, is battle tested and is ready to play unlike other receivers who need development time.

I would take TMAC at 12. If not, trade down and get at least another 3, so that that the team can draft a RB in 2nd and CB and DT in 3rd round.
I think TMAC has bust written all over him... so its a no for him taking over WR1 if lamb went down. Trade down or take Golden over TMAC.

At pick #12 he better be able to be a #1 WR.

I still prefer a trade down, get 2 extra picks in the 1st 4 round.
Any team that needs a WR, and likes this WR, will trade up to get him before he gets to #12.

You're trying to tell me that Matthew Goldens 18 yards per catch that's right and 9tds on 58 catches? that doesn't make your list of big yards per catch averages why don't we look at all of the big yards per cat averages do we want to go look at what CD Lams was in college because I bet it wasn't 25?

If it's not on Somebody'd list it's probably because they watch the games and know the competition they went up against knew how many times he was doubled or tripled maybe know how many times they didn't play defenses that played press leaving him wide open I don't know because I don't even know you're talking about because you chose not to put his name up there for some strange reason 0 wait a minute because nobody else has his name??

You should make sure you find a way to pass a note on to Jerry and Stephen ask them why them like the rest of the NFL doesn't have this guy on their 1st round radar?

Dont'e Thornton Jr. is a 6'5", 205-pound wide receiver who started his college career at Oregon before transferring to Tennessee. He is known for his physical tools and big-play ability, with a 4.3-second 40-yard dash.

Maybe it's because he only has 26 catches for 660 yards... Thornton compiled 65 catches for 1,426 yards and 10 touchdowns across 47 games at Oregon and Tennessee. His production was sometimes inconsistent, but his big-play ability remained constant – evidenced by his career 21.9 yards per reception average. At the NFL Combine, Thornton validated his game-breaking speed with a blazing 4.30 in the 40-yard dash, further cementing his status as a legitimate vertical threat at the next level. Sounds like to me over three years that's not that impressive yes yards per catch impressive but 65 catches for 1426 yards and 10tds??

Golden had 9 tds on 58 touches for nearly 1k last season lol

I mean that's nice, but he is ranked 22 in this year's wide receiver class... Hey you never know could be one of those crazy things where a guy slips down and becomes a superstar but he's not on the radar because of his lack of touches his experience apparently he transferred and didn't do a whole lot with his new team but yeah it's impressive twenty five yard to catch but Just maybe the sample size is a little too small for the draft you should have them as your dark horse maybe somebody picks this dude up in the 4th round and gets a steal so now we have it on the radar and you're welcome that I did your work for you..
I saw Golden last year at Texas. He was good but not elite. Played slower than his 40 time. Plus, when covered 1-on-1, he didn't get much separation on sideline deep go-routes or deep slants, much less spread opposing defenders deep to help open things up underneath for other receivers the way Thornton Jr did.

You want to know who Thornton Jr's production, size and athletic ability emulated? Look no further than Alvin Harper. Similar size and speed, plus similar college production (or lack of it). Yet, we all witnessed how much more helpful Alvin Harper (drafted surprisingly early in the 1st round by Jimmy Johnson in 1991) was for Michael Irvin and the rest of the Cowboys receiving group than any other wide receiver prior on the Cowboys late 80s or 90s teams.

Such historical research is always enlightening and helpful.

Does anyone really know? I mean consensus was taco was worth a late 1 but we know how that turned out. Many teams passed on CD and took someone else, most of them regret it. Most seem high on Tet, seems like the tools are there.

If we compare T-Mac and Golden in terms of statistics and production, we have:
T-Mac was the clear WR1 in Arizona, where no one else came close in terms of production. Despite not being as fast as Golden, he had the longest gain of 74 yards. Golden had acceptable production and shared production with Isaiah Bond, Ryan Wingo, and DeAndre Moore Jr. Golden's longest gain with his speed was 54 yards. T-Mac had two seasons with high production, Golden only had one and didn't reach 1,000 yards. As we can see, Golden wasn't a factor with his speed to produce more. In the NFL, there are very fast CBs that Golden's speed wouldn't scare them off. So, for me, if they're going to stay at pick 12 and T-Mac is available, they should take him. If he is not available, I would select Tyler Warren if he is available, otherwise I would trade down a few spots and still have the possibility of selecting Golden, who I do not see as a WR 1 if CD were to get injured, from what I have seen of Golden he needs to have other WRs complementing him. If he's not available, I'd draft Tyler Warren if he's available, otherwise I'd trade down a few spots and still have the chance to draft Golden, who I don't see as a WR 1 if CD were to get injured, from what I've seen of Golden he needs to have other WRs complementing him. And with that in mind I'd prefer to draft Omarion Hampton over Golden.
