Is winning the division the only route to the playoffs?

With Carolina and Atlanta both being undefeated it feels like it is very likely one of the wildcards will come out of the South.

If I had to guess I'd project the Cardinals winning the NFCW and the Seahawks <likely> winning the other wild spot.

If you believe those two things, it's all about winning the division at this point for the Cowboys. There isn't a likely WC birth for anybody in the NFC East.

Anybody thinking of it differently at this point?

Let's not overrate Seattle. They have their fair share of warts and aren't guaranteed a playoff spot by any means nor should they.

it seems the only way in is by taking the division unless Matt Cassel plays like he did with NE and KC and the coach stuff quits playing scared

Winning the NFC East is where it's at for the current picture of Dallas. Even now, any team can beat the other team in Division. As to overall record, the Cowboys are quickly approaching the cliff of total wins necessary to have playoff stability.

I believe so.

We have to hope the Giants don't pull to far ahead. We have to at least get two wins before Romo returns, imo.

And I've watched Seattle 3 times this year... they have weaknesses, but they are still a very good team, with good leadership.

We dropped our two win already, buckle up for a rough ride and just root against the Giants

We're running out of losses.

At 2-3 we need to go 7-4 the rest of the way just to be 9-7.

Things look bleak, and the schedule doesn't ease up.

It's only possible if we beat Seattle and they continue to sputter. Maybe 9-7 with tied records at the end of the year. Frankly, they don't look very impressive. 2-3 and could have (maybe should have?) lost to a terrible winless Detroit team at home.

They started a bit slowly last season as well.

I'm not thinking playoffs until the Cowboys win another game or two...

Don't like how this is setting up for the Cowboys. Unless this team wins a game or two....A Romo lead team... will have to go UNDEFEATED just to have a chance at the playoffs.

Time to roll the dice with Cassel and let Weeden begin his new career at Walmart...

Beat SEA and CAR and hope ATL and ARI win their divisions so we get the tie breakers head to head. SEA is doable mainly because our defense. We should have Romo back for CAR game. One game at a time at this juncture. We need to put some wins together and fast.
