so, Woods has made the team already as a later round pick??? I keep forgetting that he was elevated to all-pro status prior to the draft by many

moral to the story: let's get a few OTA's in first

I really don't think FS/SS labels carry as much meaning in today's game.

The goal is to have two guys back there that can do everything. Church was extremely limited in space and we had to mask those weaknesses by playing him often near the LOS.

Woods IMO projects as a SS. Very instinctual player and has a nose for the ball.

If there's any position on this team where a late round pick had the best chance to stick, it's safety.

Xavier Woods is listed on the Cowboys roster as a SS, which is probably not really a major issue.

I think most of our guys listed as safeties on Dallas' roster might be capable to play either S spot.

It completely depends on the package. I'm guessing he probably won't play any single high if Jones is healthy.
If he's dependable in his assignments, that's all he'll do.

Jones moves down to cover the TE, and the other safety plays over the top. Dallas did this all year last year.

We really didn't know what Wilcox was either. Some thought he was a FS, others thought he was more suited to be SS. Didn't matter, but he saw the field a lot as the 3rd safety. Expect to see the same with Woods.

Yea, that's what I more or less expect from Woods this year. He'll see the field a good amount, after all, Wilcox played a lot even with BJones and BChurch as the starters and Heath played a lot when Church was hurt and Wilcox started, but he likely won't start until next season.

Yes. Woods will make the team.

It's obvious considering the sheer number of bodies we lost in free agency.
