Yes or no. Still playing as solid as anyone.
Is he a top 10 gusrd all time? Is he a top 2 gusrd now? Has he ever bee. The best guard? Had there ever been a year he wasn’t top 3 at his position? The answer to every question is yes.

The All-Decade Team is a de facto HOF ballot. Every first teamer from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s is in. Most of the 2000s guys are in too.

Zack was 1st team All Decade for the 2010s. First ballot is never guaranteed for a guard, but he is a gold jacket lock eventually.

Agreed. In an era where there haven’t been many standout guards, he has stood out.

No question he gets in.

Maybe.

He should be but the hall committee is very harsh at some positions when it comes to timeline (safety, interior online, and DT are brutal to get in).

Alan Faneca (guard) played for arguably the easiest franchise to get enshrined (Steelers), was 6x first team all pro/9x pro bowl with all decade team, and was a captain for there superbowl winning team

It took him 6 attempts to get in....... (Not a typo, had to try 6 different years to get selected).

If there going to be that harsh then Martin as of the end of this season would not be a first ballot. Hopefully he plays another 2 or 3 years so at that point yes he would be even with them being harsh

I don’t know if he’s 1st ballot, but probable HOF. I’d say Tyron has been phenomenal but he’s in a mix of guys like Trent Williams, Andrew Whitworth, etc.
Tyron is a lock. First team all decade, 8x pro bowl, 7x NFL top 100, first or 2nd team all pro 4x. Those accolades at any of the 3 premier positions (DE, LT, QB) your not only a lock but getting in quick

His accolades and reputation are pretty much exactly on par with Orland Pace who got in on only his 2nd attempt.

Did you start this thread to find out how many ways people could say "Duh"?

Just kidding, of course he's first ballot.

Yes. Maybe one of the most consistently excellent players ever with incredible durability. The halls of Canton will be calling Zach's name the moment he retires. We need to appreciate his greatness while he is still around these parts.

Him and Tyron will be the lasting testament to those 2010s Cowboys "Great Wall of Dallas" offensive lines that actually kind of led to a renaissance for the position group around the NFL. Those lines reminded teams how far elite trench play can elevate a team and you saw a renewed focus on the position by front offices trying to emulate Dallas' success.

I think we all will always regret the Fact that Travis' career was cut short by Guillain-Barre syndrome. Without it, the three Cowboys first round offensive linemen that anchored our best offensive lines since the 90s would be all in Canton together.

He's a guard so depending on the class I'm not sure he'll be first ballot. He should be, but it's a hard position to go in first shot.

He'll get in though, no question.

Its funny that the greatest offensive line of all time, the Great Wall, only had one player inducted into the HOF, and that player played at the tail end of that dynasty..

Offensive line is so much more than just individual capability. I think that is the beauty of the position. Brute strength and power are great, but unless all 5 members of the line can operate together it is a moot point. Unit cohesiveness and trust in the men on either side of you is more important than how many knockdown blocks any one player gets in a game. It is the ultimate team position group in the ultimate team sport.

Romo got to play with 4 eventual hall of famers in his career. Larry Allen, Jason Witten, Tyron Smith and Zack Martin. Dak played with 3.
