He’s done. This is his last season.
He’s one of the all time greats but the time has come.

That’s on the guy who hired them though I think we have some well respected team docs but I’m not sure they even checked him. He didn’t show up to camp so might have been smart to do a physical before signing himHe's made plenty of money over his career and we don't have the best team doctors in my opinion. They certainly didn't catch this one.
Pretty sure this is the worst start of his career.......
Knowing this front office I highly doubt they did a physical before signing him. That’s on the guy who hired them though I think we have some well respected team docs but I’m not sure they even checked him. He didn’t show up to camp so might have been smart to do a physical before signing him
Are you seriously asserting that Martin, who played at a very high level last year, knew his back was going out almost two seasons ago when he held out to be paid in accordance with his resume? You realize it's just now an issue, right?Knowing this front office I highly doubt they did a physical before signing him.
I understand he's destroyed his body for absolutely nothing outside of money, but two wrongs don't make a right. He knew his back was going
Per PFF, going into this season he was ranked 7th of all guards in the league. That's still pretty damn elite. Don't confuse a decline from a perennial all-pro and future hall of famer as "not very good". He just was declining from being literally the best in the league. He's still been good until this injury.Martin hasn’t been good in quite some time. Some fans are just now coming around to the idea that he’s not very good because people are finally saying it out loud. He’s been in a steady decline for a couple of years.
He was the highest paid IOL back when he signed his previous deal.About time he got paid
Thank you for having integrity, classIt is baffling to me how many people on this board think these players intentionally (and even maliciously) get paid and just quit while laughing off into the sunset. These guys are professional competitors. Someone like Zack Martin has worked his entire life to be a consistent all-pro. The assertion that he's intentionally fleecing the team instead of just injured is just morons who have alot of misplaced anger that should all be directed straight at Jerry and the front office projecting.
Go cry somewhere elseAbout time he got paid? When he signed his 6-year deal in 2018 he was the highest paid Guard in the NFL. You're literally all over the place. You can't decide if Martin is an angel who eschews capitalism, underappreciated team player, or some kind of victim of crappy teammates that excuses his poor play.
Next time, don't go talking about someone's mental state when they're just making a joke. Lol.
No he hasn'tMartin hasn’t been good in quite some time. Some fans are just now coming around to the idea that he’s not very good because people are finally saying it out loud. He’s been in a steady decline for a couple of years.
you will find the people insulting Zack are those always looking for someone to dump on. Just the very small people that they arePer PFF, going into this season he was ranked 7th of all guards in the league. That's still pretty damn elite. 7. Zack Martin, Dallas Cowboys
After eight years of earning 80.0-plus PFF overall grades, Martin dropped to 73.3 in 2022 and 69.8 in 2023. Despite that dip, he’s still one of the most dominant guards in NFL history. Martin’s 2023 grade still ranked 17th among guards, and his 77.2 pass-blocking grade placed ninth.
From Tony Romo to Dak Prescott, Martin has been the constant presence on the Cowboys' offensive line. And as long as he’s healthy, he’ll remain one of the best guards in the NFL until he hangs up his cleats.
I suspect you are right about the physicalKnowing this front office I highly doubt they did a physical before signing him.

I believe he has been having back issues on a regular basis for at least two seasons. The pop and explosion has not been there, and he is certainly getting up slower from the field. You realize it's just now an issue, right?
You don’t think Martin realized that his play was rapidly declining, and he should get his money while the getting was good? (See Elliott, Ezekiel). Are you seriously asserting that Martin, who played at a very high level last year, knew his back was going out almost two seasons ago when he held out to be paid in accordance with his resume? You realize it's just now an issue, right?
It terrifies me that some of y'all are out there driving on the same roads as my loved ones and me. I'm genuinely surprised you're able to figure out how to create an account and post on this site with some of these genius assertions and accusations you make. We are all frustrated but let's not let that frustration turn us into complete morons, K?
You are seeing the last few years with your heart instead of your eyes. He’s been on the decline for a good while. No he hasn't
he was not quite as great last year but the All Pro was legitimate
This is all merely propaganda. He was starting to get washed 2 seasons ago and the decline is in full display now.Per PFF, going into this season he was ranked 7th of all guards in the league. That's still pretty damn elite. Don't confuse a decline from a perennial all-pro and future hall of famer as "not very good". He just was declining from being literally the best in the league.
