Wasn't this guy a qb in college, since bj sucks it would catch the defense off gaurd to put him at qb for some plays, run some wildcat give him some run pass options, he can be a real valuble player until romo comes back, anybody else agree?

Caller: "Why don't they let Stanback take some snaps at QB in this game?"

Spags: "There's a reason no one drafted Stanback as a quarterback."

Caller: "Nobody drafted Romo either."

:lmao:

Fake reverse, deep pass to Austin...Giants on their heels not expecting it.

I sure as hell would.

If by some miracle the guy is activated, then I think he'd be better used in a jap play scenario. Run a reverse/WR option to him then try to have him throw deep to a wide open TO or Austin.

Edit...basically what Hos said.

As a QB? Not gonna happen.

I can't stand these QB/WR development guys. The odds just don't work in your favor.

I forgot who said it but someone mentioned Stanbach has the strongest arm on the team. Not that means anything but I'm sure if played some QB there would be more passes longer than 10 yds

He's been active the past several games.

He's yet to prove he isn't a waste of a roster spot as a WR. Might as well try to get something out of him. But then he's such a non-threat as a WR, the NYG would probably suspect something like this if he actually got in for a play or two.

In a sense. He's been running from the five yard line to the twenty five yard line.

I'd rather have someone active that can help the coverage units. Stanback isn't up to snuff.

My first reaction was no but this game calls for some of that stuff. They may be looking for Crayton although I don't really see why. But either should be able to throw it downfield.

Care to name the umpteen other QB's that have tried the cross over? Wanna get the odds?

Didn't think so.

At least Boldin had some prior experience.

besides those 3, we have Arnaz Battle and Matt Jones

those two aren't great receivers, but the conversion worked, they've been in the league for a few years

Stanback has prior experience too, but you've given up on him too soon

the Jets failed w/ the Brad Smith conversion project so far

but I have 1 fail out of 5, that I can count so far, not bad

3rd year. 7 active games. 2 receptions for 24 yards. He averages 19.8 yards per kickoff return.

I'm not buying it.

...and there have been many QB/WR conversions attempted in the NFL, you just don't hear much about them because it's generally a stupid idea, and they don't amount to anything. There are exceptions, of course, but I don't think Stanback is one of them.

I'd like to see the many, many QB/WR conversions

give me at least 5 other than mine

Kordell Stewart!!!!!!!

As soon as felix is back stanback will be inactive on gameday again.

He has only one purpose, and that is to return kicks, and he is not even the lead guy doing that without jones, that is austin.

He will be inactive the rest of the year and I have no idea how he would ever be active next year with williams here and austin turning into a fully developed wr.
