Im not sure but isn't it illegal to push or carry a ball carrier (teammate). It seemed to me when Philly ran that bunched formation, Hurts was pushed by his lineman. I know the Oline can smack the pile but can they literally propel him like they did? Again, I have no idea. Thanks.

From the Rule Book:

ARTICLE 4. ASSISTING THE RUNNER AND INTERLOCKING INTERFERENCE
No offensive player may:

a) pull a runner in any direction at any time;

So offensive players can push the ball carrier but they cannot grab onto him and pull or carry him forward. Although, I have seen this done many time and it is never called.

Used to be illegal, but not anymore. I thought it was a good formation and strategy by Philly.

I didn’t know they changed it. I just thought it was a rule everyone agreed was stupid and so everyone ignored it.

So why are we throwing up a 20 yard prayer on 4th and 1 instead of having 2 extra players push the QB forward for the 1st down. Something tells me every team will start doing this and they will have to make it against the rules again. There is no way for the defense to stop it. Dallas had 8 guys bunch in there and couldn’t stop it. The reason you can’t stop it is due to the split second advantage the offense has in knowing the snap count. The defense has to react and that split second makes it impossible to stop.

Unless it's Moore calling shotgun on 4th and 1.

I really wish he would just run QB sneak
yes lol isnt that crazy, that 4th they didnt get early was only about 1 foot, should have been a qb sneak, but guess mike and kellen dont
know what those are, or when to use them!
Meanwhile philly has created the super sneak !or the power sneak, and dallas was comical the way they tried to stop that.

It is legal as long as the whistle hasn't blown.....just cannot carry the carrier. Should be banned i feel.

I want to know why false start wasn't called on Philthy line that would leave a step early constantly

Naw its not illegal but it is interesting the league allows it but claims to want to protect the players. I like it don't get me wrong but it seems to go against their agenda.

Moore is the play caller just like Jerry wanted, can't blame Mike for that

...ha!.. what I found comical with Eagles, was the little tricks and blurts they run. Lots of movement to camouflage the RPO.

I didn’t understand why LVE kept jumping over the pile knowing Hurts was going to duck and keep low while the backs pushed him.

Get in the middle of the pile and break a finger on his hand. Forget the ball, inflict pain...
