I didn’t understand why LVE kept jumping over the pile knowing Hurts was going to duck and keep low while the backs pushed him.
he was trying to do a sunset flip powerbomb and take hurts back

Im not sure but isn't it illegal to push or carry a ball carrier (teammate). It seemed to me when Philly ran that bunched formation, Hurts was pushed by his lineman. I know the Oline can smack the pile but can they literally propel him like they did? Again, I have no idea. Thanks.
The Boys have been doing the same thing, get over it! What needs to happen on those short yardage plays is Quinn needs to run out the O-Line when the Eagles come to town. Get some heavy beef on the line of scrimmage!

From the Rule Book:

ARTICLE 4. ASSISTING THE RUNNER AND INTERLOCKING INTERFERENCE
No offensive player may:

a) pull a runner in any direction at any time;

So offensive players can push the ball carrier but they cannot grab onto him and pull or carry him forward. Although, I have seen this done many time and it is never called.

It can be difficult to tell how much of it is the back keeping his legs churning and how much is on the OL, so they generally don't call it as long as the back keeps his feet on the ground and moving.

Because nothing else has effectively stopped it. He was trying to grab Hurts and cause him to fall or maybe knock the ball out, anything that might help.

that is a mystery lol
guess our coaches were ok with it, as he did it again, twice at least.
dallas had no answer for that power sneak, but they need to find one.

Played rugby a couple of years ,I think they should bring in a coach to teach to do a maul on defense, also we would grab a finger and tried opening the hand or going to the ground and they will trip over !
,and doing some backward pases when there running would be great ,just need to practice a bit don’t know why anybody hasn’t tried it ,they just do it when time is almost over ,watch rugby 7 ,they line up and start passing ,you can catch teams by surprise

Why do offensive linemen move to the pile of human flesh in a scrum several yards before the line of scrimmage and push their own running back forward when duty calls?

If this was illegal, we would not have witnessed this feat of sweaty personnel doing same since the 1949 West River Bend Beaver Nuggets perfected this football maneuver when leather helmets and no concussion protocol reigned.

Another rule/penalty that is called randomly. I also did not like the early whistle on movement by our back in a pile being pushed forward, but in the next drive they allowed the Eagles to play it out.

So why are we throwing up a 20 yard prayer on 4th and 1 instead of having 2 extra players push the QB forward for the 1st down. Something tells me every team will start doing this and they will have to make it against the rules again. There is no way for the defense to stop it. Dallas had 8 guys bunch in there and couldn’t stop it. The reason you can’t stop it is due to the split second advantage the offense has in knowing the snap count. The defense has to react and that split second makes it impossible to stop.
plus Hurts squats 600 lbs

It used to be illegal, but the rule was changed years ago.
Thats what I thought... I hate it. This isnt rugby. Runner stops, that it, blow the whistle. Lets not turn it into a rugby match now with 7 people piling on trying to move forward, I hate it.
