Dill - absolutely terrible. 1st cut.

Greenberry - really bad game for him showed no hands. 1st cut.

Lucky Whitehead - blazing return speed and vision. But he must hold on to the ball. Which is\was a worry of mine

Gus Johnson - Sad he is hurt. Tough inside runner. Not much speed, but got what he was given.

Weeden < Vaughan - I though Vaughan spun it well all night. He missed a wide open Street on a 3rd down. Got pressured a ton (see Dill). I don't see why we keep BW unless the coaches feel Vaughan has no mastery of reading Defense and\or playbook

Seastrunk - good speed and bounce. I guess he is the next guy up at this point.

D Wilson - looks like a starting NFL LB. Good pick.

Gregory - looks like a situational NFL rush guy already. Good pick.

Hardy - Massive guy. Looks more like a 3 Tech to me.

White - looks like a NFL CB. He will play somewhere.

Jones - see above. Didn't get beat and made tackles. Need to see more tests in the pass game.

Escobar - He plays behind a HOF TE. Other than that he looks the part in the pass game.

Street - He plays behind DEZ and TWill. But he passes eye test. Vaughan looked for him and Escobar all night. That should tell you something about their abilities.

Oh yeah How could I forget. Tom Hornsey. Whew! He was personally responsible for SD eating us alive on Special Teams. TERRIBLE. TURRBLE.

Agreed on the TURRBLE assessment.

They are stuck with Weeden at this point.

Weeden had the insane fumbled snap but his passing was accurate, smart and ripping SD's 1st team D.

Vaughan was NOT better. That is a weak fan-based narrative.

Vaughn shows good arm strength and decent athleticism but he doesn't make reads nearly as quickly as Weeden and doesn't see the field as well. He's is young but he needs to show more to stick.

Im not so sure. Vaughan played all night b/c the staff wanted a long look and get some film on him. I expect next game BW and DV play the same amount of snaps so they can get a comparison. I'd maybe even let DV play with the one's to get a better glimpse of him. Tough to assess him with the way Dill played.

Only because they choose to be stuck with him. If we keep one of the other 2 QB's, then if they mess up, they at least have the chance to get better. I think Weeden's chance to get better has come and gone.

I dont think we will be able to carry 3 Qb's. We will be long at RB it seems. BW has more experience and to me thats about it.

How about that Lucky Whitehead? That joker can fly. Way more burst and wiggle than Harris. Work on holding onto the ball, but we may be ok at that spot. I didn't see him doing any gunner work. Anyone know if there are gunner plans for him?

Weeden should've handled that snap. Other than that I thought he outplayed the other QBs.

Still, the gap between Romo and him is massive and a bit scary.

He has practiced on coverage teams but I don't know to what extent.

He is much smaller than Harris so getting around blocks and tackling will be a challenge.

This. That's pretty much how I saw it as well.

Weeden is simply a far superior QB right now.

The Cowboys are going to carry 3 QBs somehow. The 3rd just may be on the PS.

The battle is Vaughn vs Showers for that 3rd spot, Weeden is safe as the 2. His game and a half last year of 85 QB rating football was real football versus studs.
He is fine as a back up.

Who knows what we do at RB. A million possibilities still. I see no reason to go long there. Plenty of street options if you want them at any given time and you can use the PS as well.

Is it just me or do we have lots of WR's? A lot of cuts will have to be made in this position group.

Honestly, I get why people don't like Weeden. But the attempts to try to argue that Vaughn is/was better is bizarre to me. There was nothing in that game that would lead me to believe Vaughn was/is better.

And are you saying Hardy should be playing the 3 tech?

Yeah I think thats where he fits the best. Did Mincey play last night?

Hardy as a 3 tech might be the silliest thing I've read yet.

He had 26 sacks over two seasons playing DE for Carolina at this size.

Hardy as a full-time #3 technique DT?

That would be a horrible waste of his ability as a pass rusher.

especially since tyrone crawford at 3 looks deadly anyways.

you can kick hardy inside some on 3rd downs(next to crawford) but he is a starting DE.

Exactly.

Hardy has more pass rushing acumen than does Crawford or for that matter virtually every DL on the roster until one of the other guys prove they can produce as a pass rusher.

Reggie White was big burley DE, who didn't look the part of a slim-framed DE.

To move Hardy to the inside permanently would be goofy.
