I guess I am one of the few that hoped Payton would not get a HC job. I think how with Payton we finally had a QB that threw more TD passes then INTs and actually threw more then 20 TD passes says alot. Our OL was horrible but we did have some good games on offense.

Before Flozelle Adams got injured our offense did pretty good. Julius had some problems but Bledsoe was just on fire.

I wish we coulda had Payton for just one more year with a better OL. It really woulda been fun to see what he could do with our offense then.

Good luck to Payton. I wish him the best.

I was hoping he would stay too, I just cant wait for the offense to struggle just one game and see the "We Should've Kept Payton" threads pop up

Good points.

Payton called the game the way Parcells wanted him to. I'm sure he was on a tight leash.

I'm interested in seeing how he runs his offense in NO.

Best of luck to him...

I also wonder how many plays of Paytons that Parcells didnt let go and called some run instead.

Thing is with the OL Dallas had SP did not have much other choice then to call it conservative or Drew Bledsoe might be dead right now.

Hey...no question that Payton and Parcells got a lot out of Bledsoe this year. I think that's where Payton will be missed the most....

The offensive play calling will always be ultra conservative with Parcells here...so in a sense, it hardly matters who is calling the plays because the framework is pretty restricting.

If we had a good OL I think Payton coulda got Bledsoe his best year ever. Over 4000 yards and over 30 TD passes. I think it sez alot that Bledsoe did get 23 TD passes and 3600+ yards behind our OL. Sez alot about Payton that is for sure.

Payton never chose who the OL was. That is on Parcells.

even though I thoroughly enjoy ripping on you, I can't here, I agree *shudders*

The offense will look exactly the same. This is Parcells offense. not Payton. And after all these years in the league, no quarterback coach is going to change Bledsoe's game. We could use a better O Line coach for sure!

We might get one. Sounds like Parcells wants Sparano as the new OC and Payton does to.

But seriously with our OL full of washed up has been and never will bes I am not sure any OL coach coulda done much better.

I can't believe that after the pathetic performance of the OL that Sprano is in line for a promotion to OC. That just leaves me speechless. It is still only slightly worse than the rumour of bringing in the Texans' ex-OC, Palmer.

The loss of Payton hurts but this is also an opportunity to upgrade some of the coaching staff - it is up to Tuna to bring in an up and coming offensive mastermind to right this ship.
